Alnmouth beach

The beach offers a tranquil and serene setting with its soft, pristine sand that stretches out for miles. Its vast expanse provides ample space for visitors to unwind and bask in the sun's warmth. However, the occasional gusts of wind may require a windbreaker for those who are sensitive to the breeze. Compared to Bamburgh, the beach is conveniently located and can be reached quickly by foot. A range of delightful eateries are located nearby, making it easy to grab a refreshing drink or snack. While parking is available for free on the road, it may be limited due to the town's abundance of double yellow lines. Additionally, the car park's reviews suggest that it may not be suitable for low cars due to the presence of potholes.

Welcome to this idyllic beach, where the beauty of nature is on full display. Before you can bask in the sun and sand, you must first navigate the treacherous narrow lane and pass through the farmer's gate. Don't forget to pay the £1 fee in the honesty box, unless you want to risk being chased down by an angry farmer. But once you've conquered these obstacles, you'll be rewarded with a peaceful oasis where you can unwind and forget about the stresses of life. And if you're lucky, you might even spot a rare bird or two. So come and experience the serenity of this beach, but be prepared for a bit of an adventure along the way.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! We stayed at the Dunstan Hill campsite, which allowed us to enjoy a lovely 20-minute walk to the beach. We spent some time there and then continued our walk, passing by Dunstanburgh castle and admiring the bay until we reached Craster, which was about 2.5 miles away. The beach was perfect for our dog, but we had to keep it on a leash when we passed the castle and walked to Craster due to the presence of sheep and cattle.
