The final stretch of Highway 101 in SLO county leads to a picturesque beach with breathtaking sunsets. It's an ideal spot for family gatherings, and I have fond memories of spending countless hours here as a child. Recently, I returned to capture some drone footage and was delighted to find the beach deserted. It was as though I had the entire stretch of sand to myself, making for an unforgettable experience.

What a stunning pier! I had the pleasure of visiting a day before Christmas Eve, which meant there weren't too many people around. Finding a parking spot was a breeze, and my 2-year-old was absolutely delighted with the playground. The concrete slide was a hit with both kids and adults alike. To top it all off, there was a charming little cafe right there on the pier. What a wonderful day out!

Pirates Cove Beach

To be honest, I didn't feel secure when I visited the beach in the afternoon. We encountered two men hiding in the bushes, and another two men followed us to the cove and back, giving off a predatory vibe towards women. Additionally, there was graffiti on the cave walls and a lot of litter around, making the visit not worth it.

This is a fantastic spot to check out, perfect for a quick visit. The harbor could really make some profit by implementing $10/10 minute dog wash stations. There's plenty of water and sand for my furry friend to enjoy, and all the other dogs we encountered were friendly, along with their owners.

This place is perfect for taking a stroll. It offers multiple staircases leading down to a beautiful beach with an amazing view. However, there isn't much else to do here, as it appears to primarily serve as a spot for local residents to walk their dogs.

The beach offers breathtaking views, particularly during sunsets, and boasts stunning caves. If you plan to descend the stairs, it's advisable to check the tide beforehand.
