This beach, situated just a mile south of Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, is a real hidden treasure. It boasts a team of three lifeguards, two of whom are on a Sea-Doo for rescues, and has plenty of excellent waves perfect for boogie boarding. Additionally, there are restrooms available and the beach is located in a peaceful area, making it an ideal spot for families.

Pomponio Beach

This stunning beach boasts magnificent rocky cliffs that have been skillfully carved by the relentless waves. We were fortunate enough to visit during low tide, which allowed us to relax comfortably on the rocks. The beach is scattered with driftwood, and I was able to find some truly unique pieces. As the sun began to set, we were treated to a breathtaking display of colors. Unfortunately, the sign indicating that dogs were not allowed was a disappointment. Despite this, I couldn't resist bringing my furry friends along, and they had an absolute blast. The beach also offers convenient amenities such as picnic tables and a bathroom. All in all, this beach has quickly become one of my favorites.

Visiting the beach on a weekday was truly a remarkable experience. Although the entrance fee was around $8, I was fortunate enough to visit on a day when it was free. The beach was not overcrowded which made it even more enjoyable. I spent hours here, building my very first sandcastle and relishing in the calmness of the surroundings. It was an incredibly serene and peaceful experience that left me feeling completely relaxed.

Approximately 24 years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting a serene campsite located on this beach. The campsite allowed for clothing optional activities and had very few visitors, which made for a peaceful and enjoyable experience. Recently, I wondered if the campsite still existed in its tranquil state, but it appears that it no longer does. Nonetheless, I am grateful for the opportunity to have visited during its prime. Despite the changes, I am certain that the beach still offers an excellent experience.
