Hunting Island beach

When my family visited the beach on a Wednesday morning, we only encountered two other families. This beach is a must-visit if you're seeking a natural setting with breathtaking scenery. To get there, we parked at the nature center and walked approximately 0.75 miles to reach the beach.

Islanders beach

This beach is a true treasure, perfect for those who visit annually, quarterly, monthly, or call it home. While parking is metered and limited, if you have a local pass or are staying at a resort, you'll have no trouble finding a spot. We often visit in the morning and have always found ample parking. The mix of locals and tourists, along with the community of dog walkers, makes for a lively atmosphere. The breathtaking views and easily accessible paths, with a hard surface covering the sand, make it ideal for kids, the elderly, and those with wheelchairs. The facilities are top-notch, and the bathrooms and showers are kept immaculately clean.

Burkes beach

The beach area is a serene and tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. Unlike other beaches in Hilton Head, this hidden gem is less crowded, making it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. The walk from the parking lot to the beach houses and restrooms is a sight to behold, with fascinating sights to see along the way. I had a fantastic time here and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful beach experience.

The sandy shoreline is truly stunning and not overly packed with people, unlike some of its neighboring beaches. While the water may not possess the crystal-clear quality of the Gulf Coast, it's still a delightful place to take a dip. The only downside was the lack of maintenance, as I noticed some litter scattered about the beach. Despite this, the overall experience was fantastic, especially if you're keen on scouring the sand for seashells. You can find public parking spots along the streets adjacent to the beach, some of which are located quite close to the entrance. Just be aware that the current rate is $3.50 per hour if you use the app, and parking meters are available for those who don't.

Coligny beach Park

This beach offers breathtaking views of the sunrise. The water entry is smooth and gradual, which makes it perfect for playing, but not ideal for boogie boarding or shell hunting. There's plenty of free parking, and amenities such as showers, bathrooms, changing rooms, and seating are available. Additionally, there are nearby shopping and dining options, including live bands for entertainment. For those who want to relax in style, blue umbrellas with two chairs can be rented from the beach patrol for around $40 per day from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, visitors should be cautious of stingrays, as they can be found in the area.
