We went to Headlands Beach, State Park, which is situated on the shores of Lake Erie, just east of Cleveland near Mentor, Ohio. It's the longest natural beach in the state and the widest one I've ever been to on Lake Erie. This stunning beach, with its sand and rock, is right next to the Headlands Dunes State Nature Preserve and provides fantastic views of the lake and Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Light. The parking lot is quite spacious and has restroom and shower facilities. It's a perfect spot to spend an afternoon relaxing on the beach, having a picnic, or exploring one of the many trails.
