On a day marked with a purple flag indicating a jellyfish alert, the lifeguard kindly informed my son of the situation. Despite this, we still decided to proceed and ended up having a wonderful time. My son even made a new friend and they had a blast together. Although the beach could use some sprucing up, it was still quite nice. Additionally, there was a playground on site that we unfortunately didn't get a chance to use. As the night drew to a close, a police officer made an announcement that the beach would be closing soon. However, it was difficult to hear and we only understood because we happened to be walking in that direction. So if you see a cop at the end of the night, it's time to start packing up. Have a great time!

This charming public beach exudes a serene, secluded atmosphere. The gentle waves are noticeably more tranquil than those at VB, making it a delightful spot for observing boats and collecting shells. Perhaps it's pure serendipity, but I have never failed to spot a group of playful dolphins during each of my visits.

This beach is a true hidden gem, with surprisingly little traffic. This is likely due to the limited parking options (street parking only) and the fact that visitors must walk through a nature preserve for just under 10 minutes before reaching the beach. However, once you arrive, the expansive beach is well worth the journey. I've been told that walking to the very end would take around three miles (although I can't confirm the accuracy of this), and I've spent over three hours exploring the entire stretch. This is a fantastic spot to bring your furry friends, especially during the off-season when you're likely to encounter very few people. I've even spotted dolphins swimming just 20-30 feet off the coast, which is truly amazing. The constant breeze is a refreshing touch, and this beach easily outshines the overcrowded Virginia Beach or Yorktown Beach.
