Our excursion starts at the view point of Korčula, where you can take a couple of photos. The first vinyards we are going to visit are situated in Lumbarda and are famous for Grk, an autochtonous wine sort.. It is not known whether the name derives from the bitter taste or the old Greeks who settled Lumbarda in the fourth and the third century before Christ bringing their own wine sort. You will have the opportunity to taste Grk at a local winery. Then we drive through the interior of the island, passing the villages of Žrnovo and Pupnat, Pupnatska Luka, one of the most beautiful bays on the island. We continue our trip towards Čara and Smokvica, where you will be able to see vineyards. After the tour through the fields you will get the chance to try Pošip and other wines at two most prominent wineries. We time this tour to end golden hour on the water - paddling past Vrnik's old stone quarries and Badija's monastery and free-roaming deer, before finishing at Gubavac as the light turns for sunset. It's the same route as our morning tour, but the light and pace make it a completely different experience. Gubavac itself isn't reached by taxi boats or big group tours, so you get it quiet, with homemade Grk wine from our own family production in Lumbarda and traditional Klašun pastries to end the evening. Korčula Island is known for its stunning beauty and exceptional white wines. This tour combines both and will give you a chance to experience something that otherwise you could easily miss. The hike is diverse and not really demanding. However, you will need to walk a few steps up or down a rock and lower your back once or twice. The preserve is a real gem of nature and a highlight of the tour. The winery is a restored family house, with a charming courtyard and indoor seating. A substantial snack is also served. The wines are excellent and the owners are lovely and friendly. Pošip and Grk are local grapes, unique to the island. Enchanting Forest and Wine tasting, I promise. On the way back to Korčula, we will take a slightly different route and stop for a few minutes at the viewpoint on the hill above the town. You will feel like you can almost touch the town's red roofs. From there, we will drive to Korčula Bus Station or to your hotel.
