The city had no warning a storm was coming and the impact was devastating. Between six and twelve thousand people lost their lives. Neighborhoods were unrecognizable, left in total ruin. The debris created a 20 ft wall minimizing the damage done in the Historic District. Over one hundred years later the buildings are the only survivors left that endured the 1900 Storm. Join me on a 2-hour journey as I tell the stories of the storm. Hear personal stories of survival and loss as you see the locations where it all unfolded 122 years ago!
