Like most have said, this beach isn’t easily accessible! With that being said, this is one of the most beautiful and isolated beaches in the world! I was given instructions on how to find this beach by a local I hired to show me and my family around the island. I was skeptical at first because his instructions started with, “the entrance to the path leading to the beach is through a locked gate followed by a sign with skull and crossbones.” After about a 20 minute hike through a thick tree lined path that at times is inches away from a rocky cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, we were greeted by a beautiful sandy beach surrounded by lush island greenery. While the beach was amazing, the peace and solitude that came with being the only ones on this amazing beach made the hike well worth it. Visiting this beach was one of the highlights of our trip and I have promised myself that when planning my next trip to Kauai, it’s a must that I find a way to rent a home as close to this beach as possible, if not then a boat that can be anchored in its bay.
The beach may be public but the land surrounding it is not. Unless you paid to enter the garden or swam over you are trespassing (no matter what any local guide tells you). If u walked thru the locked gate you trespassed. The path is on garden grounds…you can easily access it by buying a tour and being driven there. But all this about it being on public land is untrue and these posts from people saying it is are part of the problem. Hawaiian people don’t want all the tourists everywhere like ants escaping a broken ant farm. Being responsible and respectful of their land and not trying to take the next best pic for ur social media are what you should be doing. Kauai has become tourist overcrowded and needs a lot more beach closures to keep these sacred areas pristine. Just because a beach is there doesn’t mean you have any right to be on it. Learn more about the beach and why it’s sacred.
All beaches in Hawaii are public (unless designated a federal/military zone). Purposely made less more difficult to access, but it is indeed public.
Amazing! One ov my fav
All beaches in Hawaii are public (unless a federal/military land area). This beach may not be very accessible, but it's public.
