Owned by the National Trust. Vehicles allowed on to the beach. Free to National Trust members, charges apply otherwise. Tractor sometimes available to recover stuck vehicles, not sure if there's a charge as I've never been stuck. Very well run & looked after. Has to be one of the best beaches in Northern Ireland, if not the UK. Clean, wide, long stretch of golden sands. Beautiful views no matter what the weather. Excellent for walking, on the beach or through the dunes to the river Bann. Scenery is spectacular either side or through the dunes. Good for swimming, surfing, body boarding (depending on the weather conditions). Further down the beach there is a section for jet skis etc. Dog friendly, section further along the beach for off lead gallops. Great restaurant/bar, Harry's Shack, at the start of the beach with indoor & outdoor seating available. Beach can be exceptionally busy on sunny days. Well worth a visit.
Google mukaan etäisyys eteläpäästä pierille Bann-joen suulla on lähes 2 mailia. Helppo kävely mihin aikaan tahansa, paitsi korkealla vedellä, jolloin on pakko kävellä lähempänä dyynien pehmeää hiekkaa. Harmi, ettei dyynien päällä ole laudoitettua kävelyreittiä, ainoastaan puoliksi kasvaneita korkeiden ruohojen traktorijälkiä. Ihana paikka uida ihastuttavalla aallokolla.
