Paddle through a UNESCO World Heritage site, taking in the stunning Welsh countryside views! 307m long and 38m high, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is the tallest aqueduct in the world. We start at the south end of the aqueduct and soon enough you are paddling across this famous feat of engineering which stands at an impressive 126ft above the Dee River. There's an abundance of walks here in and around Betws, long and short, so I'm happy to discuss a route before we meet up. We start at the south end of the aqueduct and soon enough you are paddling across this famous feat of engineering which stands at an impressive 126ft above the Dee River. Although this style of canoeing is deemed a calm and peaceful session the look over the edge is a breathtaking sight, but with our staff on hand, there is nothing to worry about, especially with a safe footpath on the opposing side. After this it is then a breeze down the canal, learning and developing skills across the way with some games and challenges thrown in.
