Praia de São Lourenço is located around 7km from Ericeira and is considered the most northerly beach in the area. There are several quality restaurants around the beach that specialize in fresh seafood. Surfing at São Lourenço is great for all on calm days, but it's known as Ericeira's big wave surf spot. This means that getting in and out of the water at high tide can be challenging due to the steeply shelving beach. The beach has good facilities and is patrolled by a lifeguard and the SOS Praia system. On the northern side of the beach, you'll find the mouth of the Safarujo river which forms a large lagoon of brackish water.

Ik ben absoluut dol op dit strand! Het is perfect om te zwemmen, met precies genoeg rotsen en de watertemperatuur was aangenaam, zelfs voor juni. Het is een heerlijk rustige en serene plek om wat zon op te nemen!

Dit strand wordt beschouwd als een van de beste ter wereld vanwege de eersteklas waterkwaliteit en ongerepte witte zand gelegen in het hart van de Atlantische Oceaan.

Het strand is behoorlijk mooi, maar het is belangrijk om op te merken dat tijdens hoogtij er mogelijk niet genoeg ruimte is om comfortabel je handdoek uit te spreiden. Dit is vooral belangrijk om in gedachten te houden tijdens deze Covid-tijden, waar het handhaven van afstand tot anderen cruciaal is. De watertemperatuur is echter gewoon heerlijk en er is een restaurant/café op het terrein waar je wat verfrissingen en snacks kunt pakken.
