Starting early, heading west, we reach the port of Kissamos. Here we take our boat for approximately a 1 hour pleasant sail along the coastline. Arriving in the port of the ex-pirate island of Gramvousa we hear how, during the Turkish occupation, the residents of the island started looting passing boats thus giving the island its pirate reputation. Don’t miss out on a visit to the Venetian castle on top of a steep rock as this is one of the most impressive castles in Greece. There is plenty of time for swimming or lunch on board. Our boat then departs for the Blue Lagoon of Balos, a shallow and warm water lagoon which brings to mind similar lagoons in the Caribbean. You will be disembarked at a distance of 50 meters from the shore according to the Law , as there will be no approach pier. Balos is one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole world. Enjoy a fantastic swim and relax for approximately 3 hours before boarding for the return sail. An experience to remember a lifetime !

The minibus picks you up outside your hotel and takes you to the port in Gouves, where the boat leaves. DAY & SUNSET of 4.5-5h: During the trip (aprox. 1 hour) to the Island Dia the captain will explain some of the history and secrets about the protected Island Dia. Reaching the Island Dia, it is time to walk to the little church or just enjoy the silence by snorkeling, swimming, fishing, sunbathing. Then it is time to try the delight Cretan food that is prepared by the skipper. After food the boat slowly sails back to the port of Gouves where you can see the coast line from a new point of view. Start at the traditional village of Mochos with its narrow alleys and colourful gardens, then continue to Krasi and visit the 2,400-year-old Writers' Plane Tree. Afterwards, the tour will ascend to the Diktaion Andron, an ancient cave believed to be the birthplace of Zeus. Take in the incredible view of the Lasithi Plateau. After that amazing experience the tour will take you to the vibrant city of Agios Nikolaos through a long-forgotten route where you get to see wildgoats from up close. There you can visit, surrounded by many legends, Voulismeni lake. Next, visit the villages of Elouda and Plaka with the beautiful beach where you can take a swim or/and visit the world-famous Spinaloga which is a short boat-ride away.

Please note that only Preveli Palm forest was affected by a fire on July 29, 2026. Preveli Beach remains an option; however, for 2026 season, we recommend Kalypso as the preferred beach experience. Then, we can pause for lunch at a cozy taverna, enjoying delicious local flavors and warm hospitality.
