This beach is a fantastic hidden gem.
It's not safe to park here. I parked in the carpark briefly and walked down to the beach. Unfortunately, my car was broken into and everything was stolen. The police are still investigating, but we suspect the thieves are from Gwandalan based on the location of my airpods. Be cautious in this area.
The beach is easily accessible through a scenic walkway surrounded by greenery and a boardwalk. It is a lovely, clean, and picturesque beach, although it is not patrolled. Basic facilities like water and a composting toilet would have made it perfect. Ghosties beach boasts one of the largest beachside caves in NSW, which can only be accessed during low tide. To get there from Moonies Beach, continue walking through the sand and over the sand dunes. The reef structures provide natural shade, eliminating the need for a tent or beach umbrella.
The beach is fantastic, with caves that are easily accessible during low tide. The walk from Moonee Beach access track is approximately 1.2 km along the beach. Parking is free on the road parallel to Surfside Drive, but it's a narrow road so you may need to park off to the side. The walk is straightforward and leads to a cave at the far end through the rocks. It's important to time your visit with low tide and a small swell for safe and easy access. The water is crystal clear and the sand is very white. Overall, it's definitely worth spending a day at this beach.
The beach is fantastic, with rugged cliffs that can be unforgiving, especially if you accidentally crash your drone into them. Oops!
