It was great visiting Wait pinga conservation Park and Beach. We are very lucky to be able to have places like this that have not been developed. I gather the day will be kept like this for all time. It's important to respect these places. As the hooded cleverness on the beach, it's important that dogs don't visit the beach. I still don't see a reason why dogs can't be in your car or stay in the car park. However, because I don't see in this situation that it could be a problem and then that way I could bring my dog and we can sit at the car park. Read a paper. Have a coffee together. Perhaps somebody could comment on this and let us know why it's not proper to take a dog. Beware of the rips as I used to be a surf life saving volunteer and just as the sign say the rips are indeed very dangerous here. There has been one reported death unfortunately. May the rest in peace and their family heal.
Easy drive to the large carpark. beach access is over a bridge or long walk along a sandy path. When we visited, the whole week was was wet and windy. The beach was empty but for a lone fisher. Waitpinga Creek carved a different path, running along the beach halfway to the carpark. Walking along the shore we found a lagoon.
5 stars for the beach. Fantastic view. 0 star for the toilet. I am not sure how waterless toilet works. It smells horrid. Don’t even bother to open the toilet seat. Not sure what I am going to see in there. No bin, no water, no wash basin.
Big, beautiful clean beach. Used to go surf fishing here at sunset and pull in double headers of Australian salmon. Rough for swimming, there were warnings of potential dangerous rips but a few surfers head there to try their luck.
Nice little drive 15 minutes out of Victor Harbor. Awesome views 😎👍📸
