Surprised with the very fine sand of this beach. Excellent for building sand castle. Very minimal jelly fish on my visit. Lifeguard on duty. Shower and tap to rinse off sand available on site. Public toilets reasonably clean. Parking may be very difficult on a busy period.
Clean beach with good facilities.
Was lovely and quiet and the water was warm
We're currently spending the long weekend here in Ventry and we've come to Ceann Trá beach the last 3 days. The water temperature yesterday was around 13c so it's for brave souls and those following the Wim Hof lifestyle. The damp sand is perfect for making sand castles and the high water debris left up on the beach can contain some interesting artefacts. There are a handful of portable toilets, recycling and rubbish bins and a push button free shower (at the top of the ramp) that washes from head to toe. Two life savers sit snugly in their steel cage cabin keeping a watchful eye on swimmers and the odd group of touring school kids. After this weekend I hope to return on the sunny and warmer days that will be in mid August.
Beautiful blueflag beach, great for swimming and walking. At the moment you need to be careful as one of cross over bridges is difficult to access due to collapsed sand dunes. But I'm sure it won't be long until it's sorted.
