Along country roads, among trulli, farmhouses and dry stone walls, I will show you the places I love and experience every day by pedaling together for 20 km (about 12 miles). We start from Alberobello, the capital of the trulli, towards Locorotondo, the most evocative village in the Valle d'Itria: where a tasty stop at a traditional local bakery awaits us. We will taste the typical Apulian focaccia freshly baked by Giovanni, accompanied by a glass of wine. Afterwards, before returning to Alberobello, we will stop at the pastry shop of Signora Maria to taste the almond sweets of our tradition. On the way back we will consume seasonal fruits, picking them directly from the trees (cherries, figs, fioroni, pears, blackberries, mulberries). Get ready to live an authentic experience in the heart of Bari, in a secret place that holds the true spirit of Apulian cuisine. In the company of a local guide, you will put your hands in the dough to prepare two symbols of tradition: the focaccia from Bari, queen of street food, soft and crisp with juicy cherry tomatoes, which even beat the Genoese focaccia in a last-ditch challenge, and the handmade orecchiette, prepared according to the ancient Bari technique, celebrated by the New York Times as a heritage to be protected. After the lesson, we will sit at the table to enjoy together the fruit of our work, accompanied by a good local wine and stories that smell of tradition. An intimate, engaging and genuine experience, designed for those who want to discover the true soul of Bari through its cuisine.
