Evora Food and Wine Walking Tour

3 godzin
Darmowa anulacja

Évora Evening Bites is a food and drink walk through the heart of Évora, designed for travelers who want to eat and drink like a local, not just pass through. As golden hour settles over the city, your guide leads you through Évora’s UNESCO-listed historic center, ducking into family-run tascos, wine bars, and pastelarias that most visitors never find. Across 4 carefully chosen tasting stops, you’ll try the dishes and drinks locals actually order: robust Alentejo wines, craft beers, proper Alentejo plates, the ones locals actually eat, and conventual sweets made the same way they’ve been made for centuries. History shows up along the way, but always in service of the food. Every bite has a story. Every stop is chosen for taste first. The whole experience moves to the Alentejo rhythm of vagar: unhurried, generous, and meant to be savored.

Explore Evoa with Praca do Giraldo Walking Tour

Darmowa anulacja

Evora is a city that recycled its own past, and this self-guided walking tour follows that reused stone through the golden UNESCO capital of the Alentejo. A Roman temple survived five centuries walled up as a butcher's shop. A 16th-century aqueduct has whitewashed houses built into its arches. One chapel is lined with the bones of five thousand people. Everything runs from your smartphone, with no app to download: a clear map of all 10 stops, walking directions, and a short audio story at each location followed by an interactive quiz that turns the walk into a game rather than a lecture. The route covers about 2 km at an easy pace, from the Agua de Prata Aqueduct and a hidden Roman gate to the Roman Temple, the fortress cathedral, the Chapel of Bones, the palace where Vasco da Gama received his command, the old Jewish quarter and Praca do Giraldo. Start any time, pause for a coffee, pick it back up. No groups, no schedule, no physical guide. Audio and text in 7 languages.

Odpowiednie do pływania.

I find the path to the pebble beach exciting, with a dangerous descent at the end that's only recommended in dry weather. You should be free from vertigo. The rocks were grippy, making it easy to hold on. At the bottom, you'll be rewarded with beautiful views of the rock formations, including a beautiful rock arch. Suitable for swimming.

Don’t try to use google maps the whole way. If it looks like a tough road for a car- a car shouldn’t be going on it. Drop your car on the road and start your 45 minute hike to the beach. I’d call it a moderate hike- some steep ups and downs. The beach is worth it though! I think it was about 3 miles round trip.

If you want a beach, not too touristy and undisturbed, the inferno beach is made for you 😍 it is difficult to access since once you have parked your car you have to walk about 40 minutes and in a few places hiking can be dangerous. Come with good shoes. This beach is definitely worth the detour. ✨

Jeśli jesteś odważny i zwinny, możesz iść bez problemu. Chociaż wspinaczka też jest trudna do pokonania. Rajska plaża z piękną chłodną wodą. Jest cień. Jeśli przypływ jest wysoki, plaża jest mała.

Not children. If you have vertigo don't go. Only for adventurers. 30-40 minutes walk, easy at first, but it gets complicated. Lastly you have to go down between cliffs and slippery stones. In the middle of August in the afternoon the beach was completely empty. We went with our dog. If you are adventurous and agile you can go without problem. Although the climb is also difficult to climb. Paradisiacal beach with beautiful cool water. There is shadow. If the tide is high, there is little beach.

We had to park the car a little higher up because the path is for 4X4s. After 25 minutes of walking, we were able to take the path that goes down to the beach. Nice first part with beautiful views. No particular difficulties. On the other hand, the last descent is along the cliff. Quite dangerous, not suitable for children or fragile people. After the difficult passage, there is one last descent to reach the beach. Fortunately there is a rope to cover these last 20 meters. A great reward with a sandy beach, we were alone at the beginning then boats came to settle with us. A beautiful secret beach after a good walk. A perfect mix which must offer a beautiful solitude out of season (we were on a Sunday in August)
