St Davids Comedy Walking Tour

1 godzina
Darmowa anulacja

An original and hilarious comedy walking tour of St Davids, guided by the "actual" St David. This is a unique experience, covering thousands of years of absurd mythology and questionable local history. Expect heavily-embellished part-biographical stories from Wales's patron saint, as well as tall tales about Vikings, monks and leeks, all within the beautiful surroundings of Britain's Smallest City. This brilliantly imaginative and very silly tour is a must-do activity for anyone looking for something different on their visit to Pembrokeshire. Suitable for all, involves a moderate amount of walking. Dogs and children also very welcome! For large groups (10+) please get in touch via email.

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct Canoe Tours in Llangollen

Darmowa anulacja

We start at the south end of the aqueduct and soon enough you are paddling across this famous feat of engineering which stands at an impressive 126ft above the Dee River. Although this style of canoeing is deemed a calm and peaceful session the look over the edge is a breathtaking sight, but with our staff on hand, there is nothing to worry about, especially with a safe footpath on the opposing side. After this it is then a breeze down the canal, learning and developing skills across the way with some games and challenges thrown in. Our endpoint is the Sun Trevor pub which is a great location for some good quality grub and a cold drink.

Fabulous, sheltered beach near Cardigan. Plenty of parking (£5 charge), popular café. Toilets. Quite a lot of steps down to the beach so could be a bit challenging. Sandy beach. Allegedly good for dolphin spotting. The drive from Cardigan involves some very narrow roads with limited passing places so I deliberately avoided visiting at the weekend.

A tranquil swim on a sunny evening. Good waves, but be very careful. To get down there, if you can navigate the bedrock below the little shop, Caban Mwnt, the rest is step-by-step down. Watch the rocky steps at the bottom. It's worth the effort!

Can't believe I haven't written a review for Mwnt yet, but here goes. It's one of the best beaches in West Wales - certainly in Ceredigion. The sand is almost elevated here, and you step down into the water. Pretty quickly, you're submerged, not like other beaches where you have to wade out for miles before you can swim. This is great, as it means you can go for a proper, good swim and still be really close to the shore and the sand, but watch out for babies and kids playing for the same reason. View from the engulfing cliffs are also spectacular. From the far side you can look out and over towards Cardigan island and on with weeks like we've been having recently, which have been super sunny, there's no better place on earth. There's even good dolphin spotting here, and they've been very active this late June. Wonderful little cove, and a hidden gem amongst many dotted around the magnificent Welsh coastline. A few things to note, there is a steep decent down the steps to get to it, and it's unfortunately not for everyone. There are 142 steps in all to get down to the beach. Secondly, the app you might use for parking in West Wales - PayByPhone - does not work here, due to no phone signal in the car park. That's the one with the little church, Eglwys y Grog, in the background. You need to bring change, as well as money for the small shop at the summit of the steps. Just in case, like.
