Sunlight and Water: Making Blueprints by Hand

0 godzin
Darmowa anulacja

To our knowledge, there is no activity like this happening anywhere. There are lots of people around the world making Cyanotype prints, but for anyone to be able to come into a studio and leave with Cyanotype prints made by them from photos in their phones in under a half hour is unheard of. And this kind of activity is perfect for visitors to the Mendocino Coast. The deep blue of the Cyanotype print mimics the clear deep blue of the sea, just a stone's throw from our studio. There's still a hint of mystery and magic that we've captured with our many mermaid and sea creature themes. The rich history of the coast makes a process from the 1840s bring everything to new life in a beautiful, calming color. The perfect way to capture the essence of every visit to the Mendocino Coast.

The beach was incredibly beautiful, but a little scary as well. We braved the crazy drive down the road which took 45 minutes each way. I’m OK with driving a distance, but the road was very scary at times. It was a one and done thing for me. I’m glad I went to see the incredible beauty of the beach, but I won’t be returning due to the drive and the inability to go into the water and explore more.

Lovely views at this beach! Great place to sit on a blanket on the warm black sand with many interesting small smooth stones to wiggle your toes in. There is a paved path from upper lot to lower lot, from there it’s a short dirt path. The beach is stunning rugged wild CA coast, with unique black rocks/gravel/sand, worn down from hundreds of years of natural ocean activity. Do not swim or play in water at Black sands, go to the cove near Mario’s Bar and Grill to play in sand and water for hiking and looking for whales, seals, otters and bird 🦅 watching!
