The park is fantastic, with a beach of a pleasant size that offers ample space for setting up on the shore. Additionally, there are numerous picnic tables available. The beach can be divided into two main sections: the bird rehab area and the public beach area. It's important to note that dogs are not permitted on the beach, primarily because of the bird area. Near the entrance, there is a playground for children to enjoy. By late July, the water tends to be quite warm, although it's advisable to be cautious of the waves and rip currents. The restrooms at the beach are relatively clean, and the toilets flush properly.
The beach is quite spacious and I was excited about finding some treasures. Regrettably, the water quality was not good on the day we went, so I didn't want to risk getting exposed to bacteria. Nonetheless, I was glad that I could still capture some pictures.
This is a stunning destination to come and experience the waves of Lake Erie. The beach is well-maintained and the grounds are kept clean. There is ample parking available and plenty of space to relax and enjoy. Additionally, there are numerous clean and well-maintained bathrooms in the vicinity. The views of the lighthouse and the opportunity for bird watching in the area are also delightful.
This beach is a great spot for a leisurely stroll or a refreshing swim. My girlfriend and I enjoy bringing our kids here to splash around and have fun. It's definitely a lovely beach, perfect for a picnic. They have public restrooms with changing facilities and ample parking. I highly recommend dropping by if you're in the area. It's also an ideal destination for a day trip to enjoy a fun-filled day at the beach. And if you're looking for a place to let your kids release their energy, this is definitely a fantastic choice.
We went to Headlands Beach, State Park, which is situated on the shores of Lake Erie, just east of Cleveland near Mentor, Ohio. It's the longest natural beach in the state and the widest one I've ever been to on Lake Erie. This stunning beach, with its sand and rock, is right next to the Headlands Dunes State Nature Preserve and provides fantastic views of the lake and Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Light. The parking lot is quite spacious and has restroom and shower facilities. It's a perfect spot to spend an afternoon relaxing on the beach, having a picnic, or exploring one of the many trails.
