The water is shallow for a bit and usually warmer than Lake Superior. This beach is the closest Great Lakes option to my home, and having Mueller's and a Meijer nearby makes it a great day trip. It's not a 5-star beach, but it's still enjoyable.
The beach has a designated swim area with ropes for families with children who need to stay in a safe zone. There are plenty of other spots to relax and swim on the beach. The water is clear until you reach deeper areas where you can no longer touch the bottom. Additionally, there is a lifeguard station that is staffed at specific times.
This beach is perfect for swimming, with a sandy bottom that gradually slopes into deeper waters. The water is clean and the views are beautiful, plus there is plenty of free parking available.
This place is absolutely stunning and tranquil. The beach is immaculate and allows you to fully appreciate the natural surroundings.
Overall, this beach is great - it's clean, conveniently located near downtown, and has plenty of parking. There is also a large grassy park area nearby for running, playing, and letting the dogs out. The sand is clean and expansive, and the water is clear and warm, making it a hit with kids who love building sandcastles and playing in the water. The only downside is that there are drop offs farther out, so it's important to keep an eye on the children.
