From Victorian Douglas we will head north along the coast road, stopping at Laxey an old mining town that is home to one of the most spectacular water wheels in the world. A visit to Laxey Woolen Mills where the weaver makes Manx Tartan and other tweeds on looms that are powered by man, before heading for King Orry's Grave, a neolithic burial site A visit to the site of the first monastery at Maughold on the island founded in 550 and the site of many of our ancient crosses that were carved by Celts and Vikings. A short visit through the town of Ramsey takes us north to the Point of Ayre and the flat glacial plains of the island taking in the small churches and villages along the way. After a lunch break a q burst of adrenaline, following the famous TT course to Peel, with its castle, cathedral, marina and old fishing cottages is a delightful place to stop before heading for St Johns and Tynwald Hill: a four-tiered hill which is of the Island's most distinctive landmarks.

This tour is for visitors to the Isle of Man who would like a day out seeing as much as possible. Due to time constraints we do not go into sites other than outdoor heritage sites which have no entry charges. Most of the sites can be self guided although I am quite willing to guide in them. I am a qualified blue badge guide with an operators licence to drive visitors around the island, fully insured with public liability. Although a set tour has been set up I am quite happy to adjust the tour to suit the visitors needs.

This tour intended for those who want to take a trip back into the past travelling on a restored Steam Train and visiting one of the best-preserved Norman Castles in the United Kingdom. After Visiting Castletown we will travel to the Sound for Lunch, a breeding ground in the summer for the North Atlantic Grey Seal and have lunch at the Sound Café which has floor to ceiling windows providing uninterrupted views of the Calf of Man and the Sound After lunch a visit Cregneish Folk Village which was founded in 1935 by Manx National Heritage, where traditional farming methods are in place, the elusive Manx cat is to be found and the native Loaghtan sheep are bred. The village was also used in the making of the film ‘Waking Ned (Devine)’in the 1990’s We then return to Douglas. Guests can be picked up at a location of their choice

Nikki my wife is a proud Manxie, a Kermode by birth. Her ancestors date back to the 1600's. She has a vast knowledge on the island and is excellent at find graves. Being a grave digger's daughter she's also dug a few. It can be tricky trying to decipher the hand writing in many of the Island's records, thankfully Nikki is good at this and with her knowledge it's much quicker. Plus she has resources to hand and we sometimes find that she has already research a family in the past. In the 1800's there was a large emigration from the Isle of Man to countries such as Canada, Australia and the United States due to extreme poverty and opportunities that were being offered in the new worlds. This tour is designed for those of you who are visiting the Isle of Man for family history and genealogy. This will include the family history with research before your visit, as well as a tour of parts of the island that your family lived in, together with visits to churches where they may have been baptised, married or buried. I have an accreditation for genealogy research with Strathclyde University through Future Learn and I am on a list of researchers maintained by the Manx Museum library. From Victorian Douglas we will head north along the coast road, stopping at Laxey an old mining town that is home to one of the most spectacular water wheels in the world. A visit to Laxey Woolen Mills where the weaver makes Manx Tartan and other tweeds on looms that are powered by man, before heading for King Orry's Grave, a neolithic burial site A visit to the site of the first monastery at Maughold on the island founded in 550 and the site of many of our ancient crosses that were carved by Celts and Vikings. A short visit through the town of Ramsey takes us north to the Point of Ayre and the flat glacial plains of the island taking in the small churches and villages along the way. After a lunch break a q burst of adrenaline, following the famous TT course to Peel, with its castle, cathedral, marina and old fishing cottages is a delightful place to stop before heading for St Johns and Tynwald Hill: a four-tiered hill which is of the Island's most distinctive landmarks.

This tour is for visitors to the Isle of Man who would like a day out seeing as much as possible. Due to time constraints we do not go into sites other than outdoor heritage sites which have no entry charges. Most of the sites can be self guided although I am quite willing to guide in them. I am a qualified blue badge guide with an operators licence to drive visitors around the island, fully insured with public liability. Although a set tour has been set up I am quite happy to adjust the tour to suit the visitors needs.

This tour intended for those who want to take a trip back into the past travelling on a restored Steam Train and visiting one of the best-preserved Norman Castles in the United Kingdom. After Visiting Castletown we will travel to the Sound for Lunch, a breeding ground in the summer for the North Atlantic Grey Seal and have lunch at the Sound Café which has floor to ceiling windows providing uninterrupted views of the Calf of Man and the Sound After lunch a visit Cregneish Folk Village which was founded in 1935 by Manx National Heritage, where traditional farming methods are in place, the elusive Manx cat is to be found and the native Loaghtan sheep are bred. Nikki my wife is a proud Manxie, a Kermode by birth. Her ancestors date back to the 1600's. She has a vast knowledge on the island and is excellent at find graves. Being a grave digger's daughter she's also dug a few. It can be tricky trying to decipher the hand writing in many of the Island's records, thankfully Nikki is good at this and with her knowledge it's much quicker. Plus she has resources to hand and we sometimes find that she has already research a family in the past. If you're looking for accommodation we can arrange this too, either at our Inn / Bed and Breakfast Albany House or some where local. Price is additional.

From Victorian Douglas we will head north along the coast road, stopping at Laxey an old mining town that is home to one of the most spectacular water wheels in the world. A visit to Laxey Woolen Mills where the weaver makes Manx Tartan and other tweeds on looms that are powered by man, before heading for King Orry's Grave, a neolithic burial site A visit to the site of the first monastery at Maughold on the island founded in 550 and the site of many of our ancient crosses that were carved by Celts and Vikings. A short visit through the town of Ramsey takes us north to the Point of Ayre and the flat glacial plains of the island taking in the small churches and villages along the way. After a lunch break a q burst of adrenaline, following the famous TT course to Peel, with its castle, cathedral, marina and old fishing cottages is a delightful place to stop before heading for St Johns and Tynwald Hill: a four-tiered hill which is of the Island's most distinctive landmarks.

This tour is for visitors to the Isle of Man who would like a day out seeing as much as possible. Due to time constraints we do not go into sites other than outdoor heritage sites which have no entry charges. Most of the sites can be self guided although I am quite willing to guide in them. I am a qualified blue badge guide with an operators licence to drive visitors around the island, fully insured with public liability. Although a set tour has been set up I am quite happy to adjust the tour to suit the visitors needs.

This half day tour of the North of the Island offers fascinating history and spectacular views. We will see the largest working water wheel in the world, Neolithic and Bronze Age burial mounds, incredible viking carvings and the home of the oldest parliament in the world - Tynwald

Discover the beautiful Isle of Man on this half day tour duration 4 hours. Explore this unique island with an experienced and entertaining fully qualified, registered and insured Driver Guide. The Isle of Man boasts over 100 miles of beautiful coastline consisting of sweeping sandy beaches and rugged cliffs. With a mild climate, rolling hills, and an abundance of open spaces and interesting landmarks, the Island has something for everyone. Shrouded by mystery, a sea-bound kingdom with its own captivating story to tell. With a rich history, that echoes through the ages. There are many impressive historical features to explore, including Neolithic tombs, Manx Celtic crosses, Viking burials, castles and forts. The benefit of visiting with a local guide is that you will be able to see some of the lesser known sites, as well as attractions tailored to your particular interests.

Setting off from Douglas we head north to Laxey and visit the famous Lady Isabella Water Wheel - onto King Orrys Grave for our first taste of one of the Islands Neolithic sites. Then to Maughold Church - Ramsey - St Johns and Tynwald Hill. Peel with its Castle and House of Mannanan museum. Niarbyl then over the mountain of South Barrule down to the Calf Sound - Cregneash folk village - Castle Rushen and return to Douglas over the Fairy Bridge

From Victorian Douglas we will head north along the coast road, stopping at Laxey an old mining town that is home to one of the most spectacular water wheels in the world. A visit to Laxey Woolen Mills where the weaver makes Manx Tartan and other tweeds on looms that are powered by man, before heading for King Orry's Grave, a neolithic burial site A visit to the site of the first monastery at Maughold on the island founded in 550 and the site of many of our ancient crosses that were carved by Celts and Vikings. A short visit through the town of Ramsey takes us north to the Point of Ayre and the flat glacial plains of the island taking in the small churches and villages along the way. After a lunch break a q burst of adrenaline, following the famous TT course to Peel, with its castle, cathedral, marina and old fishing cottages is a delightful place to stop before heading for St Johns and Tynwald Hill: a four-tiered hill which is of the Island's most distinctive landmarks.

This tour is for visitors to the Isle of Man who would like a day out seeing as much as possible. Due to time constraints we do not go into sites other than outdoor heritage sites which have no entry charges. Most of the sites can be self guided although I am quite willing to guide in them. I am a qualified blue badge guide with an operators licence to drive visitors around the island, fully insured with public liability. Although a set tour has been set up I am quite happy to adjust the tour to suit the visitors needs.

This is currently the only walking tour of Peel being advertised. It is a fun tour of a beautiful place with historic beauty and fascinating social history. You will be able to imagine life in a thriving fishing village with a close community of hard-working and lively people. Your guide will introduce you to its folklore, its very long history and its present day culture. She will show you the many eating places, pubs and visitor attractions you can take in on your way around the town.

Between nature and pretty picturesque little streets, this guided tour in the form of a walk of about 3 hours (according to your pace and your desires), will immerse you in the fascinating history of this unique enclave, while offering you spectacular views of the city of London. Designed for groups of up to 20 people, this outdoor tour uses dirt trails: wearing comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing is highly recommended.

Just 3 miles from the city centre, Hampstead is one of the most beautiful parts of London & one that fully retains its village origins. Walking around the narrow lanes & vast open spaces, it's easy to forget you're in London at all. Long favoured writers & artists, it's also home to many of the most famous celebrities in the world, you never know who you might bump into. We will explore the quaint alleyways and splendid Georgian houses whilst learning something of the history and culture of Hampstead village and of some of the famous figures who lived and died here. See the homes of Keats, George Orwell, Robert Louise Stephenson, Daphne du Maurier, John Constable & filming locations for After Life (Ricky Gervais lives nearby) & inspirations for Dracula, Mary Poppins plus the best view of London from Hampstead Heath. This tour intended for those who want to take a trip back into the past travelling on a restored Steam Train and visiting one of the best-preserved Norman Castles in the United Kingdom. After Visiting Castletown we will travel to the Sound for Lunch, a breeding ground in the summer for the North Atlantic Grey Seal and have lunch at the Sound Café which has floor to ceiling windows providing uninterrupted views of the Calf of Man and the Sound After lunch a visit Cregneish Folk Village which was founded in 1935 by Manx National Heritage, where traditional farming methods are in place, the elusive Manx cat is to be found and the native Loaghtan sheep are bred. The village was also used in the making of the film ‘Waking Ned (Devine)’in the 1990’s We then return to Douglas. Guests can be picked up at a location of their choice
