Our Traditional Cooking class in Genoa will allow you to learn the best Ligurian and Genovese recipes sided by local professionals in the field. Hands-on the job you will be guided in the preparation of traditional recipes from Genoa and Liguria. Our cooking class and tasting is an all-around experience. We believe that the cooking class with tasting is successful when our guests test themselves cooking, learning, sharing their experiences and having fun. Therefore, we have a 2-people minimum and a 10-people maximum. If the minimum number of guests is not reached, we will contact you to reschedulethe class at another time or day. The class and tasting include: at least 4 recipes with preparation and tasting, and one tasting more (artisanal gelato). Water, wine or beer (in limited amounts) are included. Everything else is not included.
Departure at 9 am from Genoa cruise terminal, arrival at the harbor of Santa Margherita at about 9:45 am, from where, in about 20 minutes, you can reach Portofino by boat, visit of Portofino and return by boat to Santa Margherita at 12:30, tour of the village of Santa Margherita and lunch in a typical trattoria. After lunch, through the pass of La Ruta, overlooking the Mount of Portofino, we reach Camogli by car, visit of the picturesque old town and at around 3:30 pm we return back to Genoa along the coastal road, with a stop to the center before to back on board. Though your English-speaking driver can offer commentary while driving you around, they are not allowed to do so outside of the car. If you would like someone to walk the sites with you or give commentary within major landmarks, private guides are available for hire at an additional cost. The driver will be happy to make suggestions about the best places to eat throughout the day.

During the lesson, the chef explains and shows the preparation of a dish of pasta and a main course of local cuisine. You will receive the recipes and instructions. Once arrived go ahead and walk around the main square “La Piazzetta”, and then go up to Saint George’s church and the Brown’s Castle, where you can admire one of the most exclusive views of the Ligurian coastline. Enjoy your lunch in Portofino and then, you will be taken to Santa Margherita Ligure. It is a lovely fishermen village, with antique house and modern luxurious hotels. Relax while eating "gelato", the italian ice cream, and walk through the streets of “Santa”, as it is called from locals. At the end of your tour your driver will take you back to Genoa, while you will keep memories of this wonderful day very longer!
