Hi, I’m Alvaro, and together we’ll embark on a journey to the heart of Oaxaca. Our first stop is Teotitlán del Valle, where we’ll visit an artisan cooperative dedicated to preserving the ancestral techniques of wool dyeing and weaving. From there, we’ll head to my picturesque hometown of Mitla—surrounded by beautiful mountains and agave fields. Driven by a desire to share my culture and traditions with you, I’ll guide you through these majestic agave landscapes so you can learn more about the plants and discover why mezcal comes in such a wide variety of flavors. There will be plenty of laughter and photo opportunities along the way. Afterward, we’ll visit our family distillery to see the production process step-by-step and witness the passion that goes into making it. We’ll wrap things up by tasting various types of mezcal accompanied by a delicious, authentic Oaxacan meal. This cooking class is developed through deep research with people specialized in pre-Hispanic food, we seek to spread the heritage value of Oaxaca vegetarian food. Together with a traditional Cook we will tour the neighborhood and buy the freshest products for our dishes.

You will travel in a private vehicle from the City of Oaxaca to the hotel, accommodation or anywhere you stay in Bahías de Huatulco. We have air-conditioned vehicles and certified drivers. You will travel comfortably, safely and in confidence. You will also have the benefit of deciding the time of your service and the place where you pick up.
