Travel to the Schist Villages of Serra da Lousã, a group of small villages of shepherds spread across the mountains. The visit begins at the Village of Cerdeira, right in the heart of the mountains. We continue through the Village of Candal. The first destination we will visit the highest inhabited village in Portugal, located at 1050 meters above sea level, Sabugueiro. We walk around the town for a while and get to know one of the oldest Portuguese shepherd dog species, the Serra da Estrela Dog. We will continue the journey with the destination at the top of the mountains, but first we will pass through some iconic places in the mountains: Mondeguinho; the village of Manteigas; the Zêzere Glacier Valley and Covão da Ametade; reaching the top of 1996 meters we have the Torre. You will have the opportunity to taste the famous Queijo of Serra on your own, the most typical cheese in the region and also with the sausages. After hotel pickup in Coimbra, we take direction to activity start in Viseu. Day dedicated to bicycle touring on an old railway branch that has 130 years of transport history and has now been converted into a bike-friendly Ecopista. It is an experience with a linear route in self-guide mode, 49.2 km long, almost always descending, crossing orchards, vineyards and part of the route, next to the magnificent Rio Dão ending in Santa Comba Dão, where we collect the participants and we return to Coimbra. Discover all the old Ecopista stations and stops, of which Torredeita Station stands out with an old locomotive.
