Hi there! I am your local Cape Town guide, and I cannot wait to take you on this tour for I have many stories about the Cape of good hope that I would love to share with you. Pickup will be from your hotel before we head to Bo-Kaap, where the brightly colored houses tell stories of Cape Town’s rich cultural past. From there, we will head along one of the world's most scenic coastal routes. Expect jaw dropping views as we slowly make our way to Cape of good hope. This area is part of the world's richest plant family and optional hikes will be offered to you. We will also explore a few charming seaside towns. In Hout Bay, you will have the option to take a short boat trip out to Duiker Island to see the Cape Fur Seals. Then in Simon’s Town, we will meet the famous African Penguins at Boulders Beach. On our way back to Cape Town, depending on the road traffic flow, we will pass through Muizenberg Beach, known for its colorful beach huts and surf vibe before ending the day at your hotel.

Trains have a certain inextricable mystique about them – no wonder they’re often the setting for romantic rendezvous, murder mysteries and elaborate heists. Perhaps it’s the unstoppable forward momentum; the intimacy of the enclosed space or the sense of adventure and anticipation they evoke. Situated in a an already beautiful country, the overpowering allure of the country draws one in when sitting in this steam-hauled train as you overlook the ever-changing scenery. Our guests spend their time on the train doing what they enjoy best, whether mingling in the bar, reading a book, taking in the sights, catching up with family, or closing their eyes to enjoy the soothing sounds of the rail.

We will be hiking up Lions Head, Cape Town's most Instragram'able hike. We plan to either catch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean or sunrise from the Hottentots Holland mountains. We enjoy some amazing photo opportunities before our descent. During a sunset hike, we descend in the dark using our flashlights (provided). During a sunrise hike, we may hike the first part in the dark using our flashlights (provided). While the hike is regarded as easier than Table Mountain, it still involves steep rocky and narrow terrain at certain points from about half up way and a section where the use of steel handles and chains need to be used to get up 2 pitches of about 3 meters each (only up and not down). Quite adventurous indeed. This hike has been an age old tradition for locals especially during the full moon and on clear/windless nights/mornings where the lights of the city below dazzle and the moon and stars show off its beauty in the night sky.
