A two hour drive along the scenic North Coast past the villages of Maracas & Blanchisseuse will bring us to the starting point of the hike: a tiny village in the remote rainforest. This hike is easy and takes approximately 45 minutes one way. You hike along and inside a shallow river to the most amazing waterfall of approximately 65 ft, with a large plunge pool for bathing. After some relaxing time on the big rocks or a refreshing bath - with a nice head-massage from the falls - you then return to the base. Basic changing facilities are provided. You are then taken to the popular Maracas Beach for a delicious "Bake & Fish" sandwich (not included in cost) and another swim (optional).

Avocat Waterfall is absolutely beautiful. An easy hike along the river, which makes it accessible to even the non hiker, practically anyone. When you get there, you experience a powerful waterfall that cause an updraft of wind which blows your mind. A beautiful pool for swimming, shallow and deep sides.Hiking up rivers, climbing through uncharted rain forests where your leader follows only his knowledge of the forests. While walking you will see, experience and learn of the natural history of this magnificent rainforest. The walk ends at the seventy-foot waterfall, where swimming in the small pool at the base of the falls is our objective. Relax while getting a natural massage as you sit at the foot of the falls.

The Caroni Swamp is an estuarine system comprising 5,611 hectares of mangrove forest and herbaceous marsh, interrupted by numerous channels, and brackish and saline lagoons, and with extensive intertidal mudflats on the seaward side. The central section of the acreage is designated as a wildlife sanctuary and is the home of one of Trinidad and Tobago’s national bird, the Scarlet Ibis.
