It was a great day trip to the beach, although it was quite windy and the permanent shelters made it hard to catch some sun at most of the beds. The snorkeling experience was fantastic. The food at the restaurant was delicious, with a buffet where you could help yourself to a variety of hot dishes. It was a very relaxing trip as nobody bothered you on the beach to buy drinks or things. They even provided snorkels, masks, and flippers for free.
We booked this trip through our hotel with easyJet for £70 per adult and half price for children. The package included transportation and lunch on the island, and it was definitely worth the cost. The beach was beautiful with clear water, making me feel like I was in the Maldives.
This island is a true paradise, just a 30-minute boat ride from Hurghada Marina. The sea is incredibly clear and a stunning turquoise color. Snorkeling from the beach is easy, with equipment available for rent. You only need to wade out to chest height to reach a beautiful coral reef with exotic fish. The on-site restaurant and bar provide everything you need for a fantastic day of sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. You can also hire a boat to explore the deeper coral waters, which are even more breathtaking.
Best beach in Hurgada. White sand and the crystal-clear water.
Mahmya beach is one of the top three best beaches in the world! It is the only beach in Hurghada and Egypt that is truly worth visiting. The water is warm and shallow, the colors are unreal, the sand is great, and the beach is nicely arranged. One side of the beach has multiple levels with stairs for taking amazing pictures. The only downside is the difficulty in getting there, as it is located on a separate island and not part of any resort. It is on the same island as Orange beach, but Mahmya is superior in every way. When we visited in October 2020, only tourist agencies offered tours to Mahmya, so be cautious when organizing a visit with locals. Make sure to specifically request Mahmya, not Paradise beach, Orange beach, or any other. The price to visit is not cheap, at 79€ per person. However, this includes lunch at the beach restaurant, four free drinks, sunbeds, and an umbrella. You can enjoy Mahmya from 11am to 4pm, with the option to go diving for an hour with a free mask provided. I chose not to dive so I could fully appreciate this magnificent beach, and it was time well spent. I highly recommend a visit to Mahmya, it is truly incredible!
