This is the classic version of the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour* which is based on the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour guide book. Local author and artist, Victoria Colella brings you into this sequestered world. Beginning with the Historic Houseboats then a stroll down the Gantry Crane Trail in the World War II Shipyards, exploring local art studios, Wooden Boat Center and into working waterfront. Here is where the floating homes are created and big boats are hauled out for repair. Victoria offers refreshments in the old boat lettering shack in the heart of Sausalito's working waterfront at the end of the tour. Tour takes about 3 to 3-1/2 hours. There is free parking, places to rest along the way and 3 restroom stops. *Turn off those cell phones for a minute. This is strictly analog and reading, dancing and reciting poetry may be required!
Visit Sausalito’s famed houseboats and learn the storied history of one of the bay’s most iconic landmarks on this 2 hour walking tour. Hear stories of the bohemian writers and influential artist who defined an era, Like Southern transplant Otis Redding, who spent his short time here recording the song “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” just days before his fatal plane crash. Learn how the dozens of seemingly unconnected threads of history combine to create a rich tapestry of people, personalities, and art forms known as Sausalito from a local artist and author. Stroll, read, write poetry, sing songs, create art and win the prize!! From the Captain, First Mate, Navigator, Signal Man, Photographer, Journalist and Artist, all will play their part to ensure their team takes home the best prizes. Using the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour guide book, a list of clues, compass and timer, participants will be required to pool their knowledge in order to locate Sausalito's hidden treasures - The wooden boats and historic vessels that grace our shore. When the teams return to home base, the scores will be tallied and prizes distributed. This activity takes about two to two and a half hours to complete.

Weather on the Bay is often beautiful in the middle of winter, but one of the cabins enclosed with glass to keep the wind off. Maximum occupancy for cruises is six passengers. At the rear of the boat is a cozy open-air space that seats four, with a roof overhead for protection from the elements. There's also room for 4 to 6 people to gather on the front of the boat. Beautiful Sonoma Valley is your destination on this laid-back, fun-filled, all-day tour. You will learn much about the region from your friendly and knowledgeable guide and will have the opportunity to sample many of the delicious wines that have made Northern California a world-renowned wine producing region.
