The beach entrance fee is 6 euros, whereas it's free at other places. The main distinction is that they have created an authentic beach experience here by adding fine sand, which feels much better compared to the rocky and bird-dropping-filled areas elsewhere.
Unfortunately, the service for food and drinks here is quite terrible. They lack sufficient registers and staff to efficiently take orders, resulting in long wait times even for simple items.
Despite being advertised, there is no lifeguard on duty.
Please note that tickets can only be purchased online and not at the entrance.
The beach section on the Lake is lovely, with its nice white sandy area. To enter, adults need to pay an entry fee of £6, which can be done online by registering and showing your QR code at the entrance. Additionally, you have the option to book in advance and rent beach chairs, cabanas, and even 'huts' for a group. These huts come with gas grilling facilities, tables, and plenty of chairs. There is currently one beach bar available, offering small food options like fries and wurst. However, it would be great to have another food/bar option, as the lines can get long, especially considering that it's not even full summer season yet. Overall, it's a really nice place to spend time at, and it's easily accessible by bike from downtown Cologne.
