Passagem das Bestas, is a 4-hour walk on a 4 km trail in the interior of the island of Terceira, and takes place in a protected area belonging to the Terceira natural park. On this trail it is possible to observe relheiras (marks of ox cart wheels) that for centuries transported wood from the interior of the island) engraved in volcanic rock; be amazed by the beauty of Caldeira Guilherme Moniz (volcano crater); fall in love with the endemic and invasive flora; discover breathtaking landscapes; relax to the sound of migratory and resident birds in the Azores. The trail is of medium difficulty, on terrain with few flat parts, has a maximum elevation of 100 m, is a circular route and is approximately 4 km long.

Continue to Serra do Cume and prepare to be amazed by the view of the “Manta de Retalhos”. After a lunch break* in the city of Praia da Vitória, go to Serra do Facho, where the view over the city is breathtaking. Head towards the interior of the island and descend into the impressive volcanic cave of Algar do Carvão. Algar do Carvão is currently open with restricted access due to maintenance work. The last stop is the Natural Pools of Biscoitos, surrounded by the characteristic lava rock formations, from which its famous vineyards will amaze you.

Discover the history and beauty of Angra do Heroísmo, a UNESCO World Heritage city, on a walking tour of its most emblematic sites. The route starts at Alto das Covas and goes down through Rua da Sé towards the Cathedral of the Azores, the Sé Cathedral (entrance included).
