It would be nice to be clear about what is being reviewed... here we are talking about the Cava beach... which is IMPOSSIBLE to give less than 5 stars. It is beautiful for walking and swimming, less suitable perhaps for sunbathing. We are NOT talking about the Marta lakeside... so whoever talks about closed bars has written the wrong review. There are no bars at all on the Cava beach and it is wonderful as it is. It can be reached on foot by climbing over the promontory with the steps that start from Marta from the public garden of the fishing village or from Capodimonte by parking at the end of Via della Cava. I had looked out once by passing from the steps of the promontory and today, thanks to a fairly cool and cloudy day, we walked along it to the clearing on the Capodimonte side. Some had preceded us in the company of their dogs judging by the footprints. On the way back there were three boats moored along the beach which can also be reached this way.
After a beautiful lakeside walk along the beach of the municipality of Montefiascone and then that of the municipality of Marta, after crossing a pier and passing the small port, we arrived on the lakeside of the village of Marta full of bars, restaurants and a delicious market. We usually stop here, but one day, thanks to the beautiful day, we continued our walk which ended at the foot of a long and steep staircase, first uphill and then down. Our curiosity pushed us further and so we arrived on this beach called "La Cava". We are immediately struck by the enormous wrought iron gate of a private house and then by the sad abandonment in which this beautiful beach is located. In the distance you can see the town of Capodimonte and the Bisentina island, but it is not clear whether you can enter this town by walking along the entire beach. After a short walk, during which we did not find any road that took us back to Marta, we went back along the same staircase. With a thousand questions and also with a bit of bitterness. We want to go back and maybe follow it to the end.
