Nice quaint beach close to Santiago de Cuba. Not much facilities here (we used a tree for shade as all the shaded areas were taken) but, if all you need is the beach then this playa is not than sufficient(we are talking about the Caribbean here). I would definitely recommend to visit if you are staying in Santiago and need a relaxing day.

Far from being extraordinary, this beach has the advantage of being close to Santiago de Cuba and accessible via local transport. Nice for a relaxing day by the sea. There are also a few underwater areas to explore with your mask and snorkel!

It is indeed a stoney beach and doesn't look like all other touristy picture beaches with never ending white sand shores but if you don't mind it or want to escape tourist crowds, and enjoy more quiet atmosphere you will love it. The majority of visitors are locals so it can give you a nice insight to the local life. We visited Cuba 3 years ago and, from all beaches visited during our trip, we have remembered this one very well. The atmosphere is very friendly, locals are chatty and happy to help. And now the real gem! What we learnt from one Cuban boy is that there is a shipwreck and old railway tracks on the sea bed, in a relatively easy snorkeling distance. He friendly offered to take my partner there to explore it and he absolutely loved it. I would recommend to have a bit of experience in snorkeling if you want to try it but it's accessible for anyone. Overall, I recommend to go there for one day if you have some spare time while staying in Santiago. Hardly no tourists, little crowds and a shipwreck to explore!

Pretty scenery here, but not anywhere near as comfortable or relaxing a beach experience as you'd get in Varadero, the Cayos, and Playas del Este. Dramatic views around the bay of the lush vegetation gracing nearby cliffs. Warm enough to swim in the Caribbean water and a nice way to cool off if youve been sweating all day going around Santiago city. When we were there, it was also beautiful to watch the purple lightning hitting the ocean beyond us. You might get serenaded by guitar-strumming Cuban people around a bonfire on the beach, like we did. Definitely an off-the-beaten path adventure experience going out here.
But, bring bug repellent, cuz flies n mosquitos will bite ya if you dont! Super rocky strand on the beach, not fun to walk on w/o sandals. They at least have beach chairs available for you to rest on that you can buy for a few CUCs at most. There are a few bars located off the main beach, just dont go and buy a drink at one place and then the next one at another, bc that could upset the owners of the different bars who compete for what tourist dollars do come to the village.
Would I recommend Siboney beach for adventures and cooling off from Santiago's midday heat? Yes. Would I recommend it to spoiled package tourists who want to relax on large stretches of white sand from which they can swim comfortably into the Caribbean? Not quite.

我会推荐西博尼海滩来进行冒险和避暑以远离圣地亚哥的午间酷热吗？会的。会推荐给那些想在宽阔的白沙滩上舒适游泳的奢华旅游者吗？不太会。

A little less than average beach that could potentially be one of Santiago de Cuba's top attractions if only it were not so neglected. The beach itself is in no great shape, though not bad either. The selling points are its proximity to the city of Santiago de Cuba, the unmatched warmth of its Caribbean sea waters and the buzzling activity of both locals and visitors.
