The House ZEYSSOLFF is one of the few authentic cellars in Alsace, dating from 1870, with about twenty hundred-year-old oak casks each having a capacity of 10,000 L still used for the winemaking of its wines. His great curiosity is the ZEYSSOLFF barrel, made in 1897 for the Paris Universal Exhibition (1900). This barrel is still used today. The tasting begins at the cellar. Follows the projection of an explanatory video on the production of Alsace wines (suitable for children). Then we will go to visit the cellar, its more than hundred-year-old wooden barrels and you will discover our family history through a scenographic space with immersive video at 180° projected on barrels: unique in France. We will take a short break at the Sigolsheim Necropolis where you will have a panorama of the Alsace Wine Route. The next destination is Riquewihr, famous for its medieval charm. You will have free time to have lunch there. Then, we will visit the majestic Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg. Entrance to the castle is included in our tour, allowing you to explore the different rooms, wander the courtyards and admire the architectural beauty of this medieval fortress. Our last stop will take us to a winegrower where you can taste the fine wines of Alsace.

Alsace is home to no fewer than 51 Grand Cru terroirs, where only the four most prestigious grape varieties of the region (Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Muscat) are cultivated, with the exception of Sylvaner. The names of these terroirs are often mysterious, and the winemakers will be happy to explain their meaning and uniqueness to you. These terroirs represent the pinnacle of Alsace’s vineyards, with Grand Crus located all along the Alsace wine route, always on hillsides with optimal exposure. During your visit to the winegrowers, you'll have the opportunity to taste the different grape varieties from the Grand Cru hillsides, and sometimes even the same grape variety from several Grand Cru parcels. The winemakers will introduce you to the wines that are the pride of their estates and will delight your taste buds. These wines boast incomparable elegance and exceptional aromatic richness, drawn directly from the soil in which the vines are planted.

From 1870 to 1945, Alsace was a major war zone between France and Germany. This tour will explore the history of the Alsatians, first under German rule, then under French. We will discover remnants of these wars and visit Struthof (a concentration camp at 900 meters altitude), a Nazi German concentration camp. For a lighter touch, we will conclude the tour with a visit to one of the most beautiful panoramic views of Alsace and Christendom at Mont Sainte-Odile. It is important to bring a waterproof jacket and warm clothing depending on the weather. A written description and audio guide are available in English for Struthof. The House ZEYSSOLFF is one of the few authentic cellars in Alsace, dating from 1870, with about twenty hundred-year-old oak casks each having a capacity of 10,000 L still used for the winemaking of its wines. His great curiosity is the ZEYSSOLFF barrel, made in 1897 for the Paris Universal Exhibition (1900). This barrel is still used today.
