My Husband and I decided on Le Meridien Maldives for our honeymoon, after a lot of back and forth on where to go and where to stay - and I could not have been more ecstatic with how that decision turned out! I don't even know where to begin, so i'll start with the rooms. gorgeous and clean- housekeeping comes twice a day! The bathroom is UNREAL, the tub overlooking the water in the overwater villas is next-level amazing. Being able to snorkel off your deck is incredible, and the house reef is truly to die for. The deck is spacious and private, the bed is COMFORTABLE as anything, and the general vibe is cozy and quaint - with some quirky decor. Huge closet, separate toilet, and excellent rainfall shower. Chef's kiss, no notes. You also get free flip flops to wear for your stay, as well as daily robe refreshes and a hotel bag. They seem insignificant, but they matter! The activities were AMAZING. We did the honeymoon package - snorkeling with sharks, tubing and dolphin cruise. Snorkeling was INCREDIBLE. You get to jet ski out to the ocean and hop into the water with a TON of sharks and other marine life! Our guide, Mahga (i think that's how to spell it!) was so knwoledgeable, he was able to explain about different animal habits and point out things we would have otherwise missed, like a GIANT sting ray resting in the sand, or a baby lobster chilling on a rock. He was fearless and made us feel so safe! The Dolphin cruise was INSANE - they clarify that there's no guarantee you see dolphins, but boy did we! We had an overflow of guests on the cruise so a few of us went out on a smaller boat, and we were so close you could touch them (we didn't, I swear!) The captain was so knowledgeable and friendly, and we even saw a pilot whale while following a pod of 6 dolphins around a few of the local islands! I feel like i need to leave a whole separate review on the food, but it was completely outstanding. Chef Schoab, Chef Devon, and Chef Pradeep went ABOVE AND BEYOND in every way to make our daily meals special. It got to the point where my husband was more excited to see Pradeep than me ;) The food was absolutely amazing. Velaa - Pradeep cooks a mean rack of lamb, his steaks are unreal, and his PIZZA - my gosh! AMAZING! Chef Schoab can cook anything, i'm convinced. It all tasted so fresh and healthy, yet indulgent. His whole staff was incredible and can I say, the chocolate cake was UNREAL! Waves Cafe, underrated gem. The service - Mahduri, Xavi, etc. are all incredible. Chef Devon always made the tastiest breakfasts, and his Indian and Maldivian dinners at turquoise were absolute perfection. The flavors, the vibrancy, everything - just incredible. The overall staff, again, is just incredible - the kindness, cordiality, the community they built is just second to none. Run - don't walk - to stay here! A hidden gem :)

We had an amazing time here, it is a five-star resort with exceptional service at every encounter. Noting here a few things for people researching the resort and considering what to book. First, the food was truly exceptional. We had the all-inclusive option, but in 6 days we never ate a full lunch. We sleep in, and the enormous buffet breakfast ran until 11 which kept us nourished until the late afternoon. The cafe and adult pool bar also had afternoon nibbles when needed. If we went back, I'd choose the breakfast and dinner option, also because we didn't have more than 1-2 drinks a day. Second, we had a beach villa with a garden pool. Our neighbors had the beach pool. In chatting with them, we both agreed the pool was not needed (and we were there in July during very hot weather) with crystal clean ocean water at a cool 81 degrees only steps away. The only upside to a garden pool might be for those who want to plunge au naturale... but if we go back, I'd skip the pool suite altogether. Third, the rooms - including over-water villas- are all well constructed of solid concrete materials, including the roof. Blissfully quiet with the doors closed. I note this because many other hotels use wood frame construction or thatch roofs - so honeymoon couples in the suite next door or waves slapping against the pillars below over-water villas can cause noise concerns. Fourth, many of the rooms, including ours, located the shower and sink in an outside area. This was my least favorite part of the resort and I would choose a different option next time. Finally, we found this to be a relaxing resort, but wished there were mid-day fitness activities. Yoga was only offered at sunrise or sunset, and main exercise classes wrapped by 9am. Some other activities that were advertised to us (an evening salsa class, a greenhouse tour, daily afternoon open house in the marine center), disappointingly did not take place. A big draw for us was the possibility of painting classes advertised on their website (make your own souvenir!), but the artist was on vacation during the time we were there so this was not available. They should cross-train another staff member so when the artists is away, at least they could offer one class a week to paint a turtle or whatever.

One word - amazing! My husband and I stayed 6 nights in a sunrise overwater villa on the west jetty. The villa was lovely and clean at all times. Kudos to the cleaning associates cleaning villa 225! We saw rays, fishes & sea turtles from our villa deck. The views were picturesque and picture perfect. Tides were low in the morning and it was perfect for snorkelling (for someone who is terrified of waters). Dining options were sufficient and breakfast is always a joy with Emsy (hope I got her name right) and the breakfast crew. Emsy is jovial and friendly, nothing is too much for her. We also dined at Tebamsau 4 out of the 6 nights we were there and the food wowed us all the time. We particularly enjoyed the makis and miso gindara (try and thank me later😉). The crew at Tebamasu was fantastic as well. They even remembered our last night and wrote us a sweet message on the desert. It is these little things that make our stay exceptionally special. Terderlion steak at Veela is also a must-try! All in all, we had a blast at Le Meridien and cannot wait to be back! ❤️❤️❤️

Our recent stay at The Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa was nothing short of a dream. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquility and understated luxury that truly made our anniversary trip simply blissful. A delightful surprise awaited us upon check-in – an upgrade to an ocean villa with a sunset view. This was an absolute treat! Waking up to the turquoise expanse of the Indian Ocean and witnessing breathtaking sunsets from our private deck became a cherished part of our daily routine. The villa itself was beautifully appointed, offering both privacy and stunning vistas. One of the highlights of our culinary experience was undoubtedly our time spent at Velaa. I have vegetarian dietary requirements, and I was so incredibly touched by the exceptional service provided by the chef, Pradeep. He went above and beyond to accommodate my needs with such warmth and genuine kindness. Not only did he ensure there were delicious vegetarian options available, but he also offered to create something special off the menu, which was truly appreciated. His attentiveness and care made our dining experiences at Velaa truly memorable. The resort also made our anniversary feel incredibly special. We were greeted in our villa with a lovely message on our bed, along with a thoughtful bottle of Prosecco and a delicious cake. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, ensuring our every need was met with a smile. Our trip to The Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa was an unforgettable experience. The stunning location, the exceptional culinary care from Chef Pradeep, and the thoughtful anniversary gestures all contributed to a truly relaxing and simply blissful getaway.
