Classic Nz coastal beach. Stony but still ideal for reading a book & going for a dip. If sandy beaches are more your thing, check out Campbell Bay Reserve a little further south.

Great stone beach area to explore, with adjacent Kananui river mouth and estuary area. A short 20 min walking track can be found near the river mouth and is suitable for all. Plenty of bird life to see along the beach and river mouth, and spaces for dogs to swim as long as they are under control.

Fantastic beach, lively fine white sand with nice gradual slope into the surf.
Interesting with the short walk fromnthe fisherman's club at the north end to the Kakanui river mouth tonthe south.
