This hike connects two of the tallest peaks of Madeira Island. Near the Pico Ruivo shelter is the track PR 1.2, which leads to the Achada do Teixeira. Already at Achada do Teixeira you can see the basaltic rock formation known as “Man in Foot”, located in the descent after passing through the shelter of Achada do Teixeira.
