From 15th JUNE to 30th NOV, 2026 WHALE WATCHING WALKING TOURS - in Hermanus, South Africa - - Whale Watching Walking Tours of Hermanus take you on a gentle walk along our very scenic paved walk-ways of the pretty coastal cliff tops for 2 to 3 hours, with our experienced Whale Watching Tour Guide who will take you to all the hidden coves and inlets that the Whales love to frolic in and due to the cliffs being vertical, means that the Whales can literally be only a few metres away from you. Gansbaai is known as the great white shark capital of the world and is only a two-and-a-half hour scenic drive from Cape Town. It is here that we will make your dreams come true! The experienced crew will share their vast knowledge of the water world where they operate when they take you to view sharks from the surface or underwater from a cage. This marine wonderland is the closest place in the world where you can safely see these apex predators in their natural environment. Great White shark behaviour has been unpredictable since Orca predation in 2017. We work with various shark species, including Bronze Whaler and sevengill sharks.

We will be hiking up Lions Head, Cape Town's most Instragram'able hike. We plan to either catch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean or sunrise from the Hottentots Holland mountains. We enjoy some amazing photo opportunities before our descent. During a sunset hike, we descend in the dark using our flashlights (provided). During a sunrise hike, we may hike the first part in the dark using our flashlights (provided). While the hike is regarded as easier than Table Mountain, it still involves steep rocky and narrow terrain at certain points from about half up way and a section where the use of steel handles and chains need to be used to get up 2 pitches of about 3 meters each (only up and not down). Quite adventurous indeed. This hike has been an age old tradition for locals especially during the full moon and on clear/windless nights/mornings where the lights of the city below dazzle and the moon and stars show off its beauty in the night sky.
