After pickup at your accommodation in Cuenca, we will enter the Natural Park of the Serranía de Cuenca to discover the spectacular Enchanted City, one of the most famous and surprising natural areas of the province. During the guided tour we will learn about the origin of its whimsical rock formations and the curiosities that hide this unique landscape. The route will continue to the source of the Cuervo River, where we will travel its paths and waterfalls while discovering the natural environment in which one of the most emblematic rivers of Castile-La Mancha arises. Before returning to Cuenca, we will stop at the Laguna de Uña, with free time to eat or enjoy the surroundings quietly, and we will also visit the Ventano del Diablo, a spectacular natural balcony with stunning views over the Serranía.
Discover Cuenca’s stunning fortified historic quarter and immerse yourself in the history and heritage of a unique city declared a World Heritage Site. We will begin our visit in the Plaza Mayor, next to the Cathedral of Santa Maria y San Julián, one of the first Gothic cathedrals of Castile. Along the way we will discover some of the most emblematic places of the city, such as the ancient Muslim cathedral, the Jewish quarter, the Torremangana, the tunnels of Alfonso VIII and the famous medieval skyscrapers. We will also enjoy the breathtaking views over the Júcar and Huuécar muzzles from the surroundings of the St. Paul's Bridge and the iconic Hanging Houses. We will finish the experience with the guided tour inside the Cathedral of Cuenca, known as "The Cathedral of Light".
This route is ideal to get lost, while learning its history, through the streets of Cuenca. From the viewpoint located behind the Arco de Bezudo, we will go down the gorges of the Huécar river and the Huécar river, letting ourselves be duped by its streets, buildings, people, monuments, up to the Plaza de la Merced and the Torre de Mangana. Once there we will walk the path to the famous Hanging Houses, to talk about the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art, named for the first abstract art museum located in Spain (we will not access the interior).
