You will arrive at a walled city that in 1680 brought the Portuguese crown, with military and civilian envoys, to monitor the Spanish ships traveling to Buenos Aires, in search of gold, silver, and precious stones. You will get to know the precarious constructions of the era, their handmade roofs, their lanterns and stone streets with natural drains, in a city anchored in time and magically preserved with its military field gate, its drawbridge, and its cannons. The 11 o'clock schedule will be in English and the 13 o'clock in Spanish.

Discover the Old Town of Colonia del Sacramento with an official guide who will tell you the history and curiosities of each place, in addition to recommending the best restaurants and activities in the city and the area. We will walk through the Field Gate, "La Calle de los Suspiros", the lighthouse, the yacht harbor and the church, among others. The walking tour lasts approximately 1:30 hours and is done in small groups. It starts at "La Fuente Portuguesa", next to the church "Basílica del Santísimo Sacramento", and follows a circular route through the Old Town, ending at the starting point. Colonia del Sacramento is a picturesque and welcoming city, a must-see when visiting Uruguay or Buenos Aires. It can be seen in just one day, but it is recommended to spend a night to enjoy one of the best sunsets in Uruguay and walk through the Old town under the warm light of the typical lanterns from Colonia.
