We used the resort as a base to self drive ourselves around the island to explore. It has beautiful rooms and food in the two dining areas. Snorkeling in the water off the resort is great.

Had high hopes as many people told us Saletoga Sands was one of the best resorts on Upolu but it was a bit disappointing.
What we liked:
The resort grounds were beautifully kept, beach areas were clean, and the pool areas pristine. The food was very good and there were filtered water stations around the resort to refill water bottles whenever you like.
Lots of staff all around the resort to help out when you need it. We also loved encountering the resort cats throughout our stay.
What we didn’t like:
Our room most definitely did not reflect 4 stars, especially since we stayed in a couple of 3-star accommodations that were much better. We stayed in one of their “hotel” rooms, which are separate from the main resort villas and certainly feel like an after thought and not well kept. The parking area got very boggy when it rained.
When you initially look at the room, it looks good enough, but the lights in our room were incredibly dim compared to other rooms -even compared to the bathroom lights (we couldn’t read our books in the main room it was so dim).
The shower pressure was very low and there was a constant sewage smell coming up from the drains, which is especially unpleasant at night when you are trying to sleep.
Most of the resort staff were really friendly and approachable but there were some who were clearly annoyed when we asked for help, making us feel like we were bothering them (e.g. ordering a drink and some food from the bar).
Finally, wifi is only available near the reception area and cell reception is spotty in the area.

A fantastic place to chill out by/in the pool or same with the beach. Safe beach swimming. Limited activities which is perfect for a chill and relax holiday. Staff are friendly if reserved unlike the Fijian and Cook Is. resorts. Food was great. The rooms spacious and clean. Rental cars and scooters available to go exploring. We had a shuttle pick-up and drop off for the airport. Downside here is it is a 90min transfer. We spent 5 days which was a perfect amount of time to do nothing.

The hotel is great in every sense. Rooms are spacious, clean and nicely decorated, there are two restaurants that have mostly western food and a busy pool. The reef in front of the hotel has an amazing diversity of sea life! We even spotted a giant clam on the western side of the beach!
The only thing is that it's a resort with that generic feel of a resort. There's an internal travel agency that offers daily tours and it's fairly isolated, so you can't really go out for a meal somewhere else. It's great for families with kids.

Fantastic location, one of the best snorkeling and coral reef experiences we have seen of the big resorts. Saletoga has the best atmosphere with a great combination of traditional Samoa island life vibes with modern comforts and amenities. The gym is well equipped and the hot stone massage at the spa was excellent.
Loved the food, great variety at the buffet breakfast with a good mix of local and western food. The staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed a Fia Fia buffet and fire dance whilst staying at the resort, great show and food.
