The beach is stunning, like many others in Ceará, but I highly suggest checking out the Oysters Shack. You can enjoy affordable oysters and take a boat ride through the mangrove river to see the city's wildlife and plants, pass through the love tunnel, and admire the dunes. Additionally, there is another shack past the dunes that serves an incredible shell stew.
I really enjoyed Amontada beach - it's stunning, roomy, and has warm, calm, clear waters that are perfect for swimming and great for families with kids. The only downside I want to mention is the heavy and dangerous traffic of cars, trucks, buggies, and motorbikes, especially on weekends. Be careful when walking. There are several pousadas along the beach for accommodation and plenty of restaurants. Amontada is well-known for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Unfortunately, the beach is starting to deteriorate due to the high traffic on the sand and the lack of garbage cans.
