The Lençóis Maranhenses sand dunes are located on the eastern coast of Maranhão. The tour departs from the municipality of Barreirinhas which is the main gateway to this fantastic natural beauty. The dunes span from the coast to 15 miles inland, and in between the sand dunes are countless clear lagoons. These lagoons are formed with the rains of the rainy season that ranges from December to July. This tour will take you to this grand, unique National Park. We visit one of the different lagoons depending on time of year: Lagoa Azul (May to August) or Lagoa Esperança (September to April).

The tour begins when the schooner leaves the Nautical Terminal towards the first island. The Jewish tour of Recife and Olinda is a very special experience for those interested in learning more about the presence of Jews and new Christians in Recife – in the 16th and 17th centuries. The Guide historian will take you to know the main milestones of the Jewish presence in Brazil and about the Brazilian colonial economy, the religious culture of the Brazilian people and about the European wars that brought Portuguese Jews from the Netherlands during the 17th century. In Olinda we will visit some of the main churches, markets and streets of the colonial period and main vestiges of the Marrana presence in Brazil in the 16th century, in addition to the house of Branca Dias, and a mikveh (purification tank) that is representing the "marrana" cultural resistance in the colonial era. . On the way back, we explore other lagoons of the Lençóis Maranhenses, such as Lagoa das Sete Mulheres, Lagoa da Tropical, and Lagoa do Kaite, among others. The tour ends around 4:00 PM, arriving back in town at 5:30 PM.

The Lençóis Maranhenses sand dunes are located on the eastern coast of Maranhão. The tour departs from the municipality of Barreirinhas which is the main gateway to this fantastic natural beauty. The Lençóis Maranhenses National Park is considered a rare geological formation on the planet, presenting a unique and very rich ecosystem. The dunes span from the coast to 15 miles inland, and in between the sand dunes are countless clear lagoons. These lagoons are formed with the rains of the rainy season that ranges from December to July. This tour will take you to this grand, unique National Park. We visit one of the different lagoons depending on time of year: Lagoa Azul (May to August) or Lagoa Esperança (September to April).
