However, be warned that the beach front parking area is not secure, so leaving your car unattended with valuables inside is just asking for trouble. Instead, head to the local eatery where watchful eyes will keep an eye on your belongings. While the beach is safe for swimming, there are no lifeguards on duty, so use common sense and caution. Rip tides can occur, so it's best to head to the estuary at high tide or take a stroll to the rocks. And if you're lucky enough to visit between June and December, you might even catch a glimpse of sea turtles nesting on the beach. Just be sure to visit the volunteer station for more information.

I have had the pleasure of visiting over a dozen beaches in Costa Rica, but this particular one has captured my heart. The vast expanse of the beach during low tide makes it a delightful walk on the firm sand. The little huts are a great way to get some shade and relax (we got lucky and found some available at 9:15 am). The sandy bottom with no rocks on the main part of the beach makes it a safe place to swim and enjoy the waves, which are perfect for beginner surfers. Additionally, there is ample parking available, and the nearby restaurants serve delicious food. Overall, this beach is a must-visit for anyone looking for a serene and enjoyable experience.

Looking for a beach that's devoid of excitement and life? Look no further than this snooze-inducing spot. With a measly 30 people at most, you'll have plenty of space to spread out and bask in the mundanity. The food is decent, but let's be real, you're not here for the culinary delights. The surf is decent too, but only because of the great instructor. And while the sunsets may be beautiful, they're hardly enough to make up for the lack of any real action. At least there are some local food options nearby to spice things up a bit.

The ocean at this beach was absolutely stunning, with warm and inviting waters that beckoned me to dive right in. The atmosphere was so cozy and serene, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. As the sun set, I was treated to the most breathtaking sight of stars twinkling in the sky above. With my snorkeling kit in hand, I was able to explore the left side of the beach and was delighted to discover a variety of colorful fish swimming around me. While there were no bathroom facilities available, the peaceful and private setting more than made up for it.

It's situated just a 30-minute drive from Sámara, but the road leading to it is quite bumpy and full of potholes (especially in November). However, it's still accessible to 2-wheel drive vehicles. The beach is favored by surfers and boasts choppy waters along the shore. There are signs warning of rip currents, so caution is advised. While there's plenty of shade to be found, it's recommended to bring along beach towels or camping chairs for added comfort. There are no amenities available, so come prepared.

If you're looking for a place to waste your time and money, Sàmara is the perfect destination. The beach is nothing special, and the locals are only nice because they want your tourist dollars. The village is small and unremarkable, with only a handful of overpriced restaurants and food that's barely edible. The surfing is mediocre at best, and the hiking trails are overcrowded and poorly maintained. The waterfalls nearby are nothing more than a trickle, and the sunsets are nothing to write home about. The full moon parties are a sad attempt at recreating a wild island experience, and the island itself is underwhelming. In short, Sàmara is one of the most overrated places I've ever been. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

The surfing is mediocre at best, and the hiking trails are overcrowded and poorly maintained. The waterfalls nearby are nothing more than a trickle, and the sunsets are nothing to write home about. The full moon parties are a sad attempt at recreating a wild island experience, and the island itself is underwhelming. In short, Sàmara is one of the most overrated places I've ever been. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Upon arriving at the beach, I was filled with anticipation to witness the miraculous sight of baby turtles hatching from their eggs. However, my experience was marred by the shocking and heart-wrenching reality of human cruelty. It was disheartening to see volunteers collecting freshly laid turtle eggs and placing them in a bag for the purpose of making omelets or selling them. This was confirmed by their own admission. To make matters worse, tourists were carelessly walking around, oblivious to their surroundings, and stepping on the baby turtles without any supervision. As a vegan and animal lover, this was an incredibly distressing experience. It is disheartening to see people driven by greed and profit, willing to exploit innocent creatures for their own gain. This experience has left me feeling deeply disappointed.
