The water at this beach is crystal clear, with very few people around (only two others were snorkeling). The staff is incredibly diligent about keeping the area clean and preserving the natural beauty. I have traveled to many places around the world, but I have never seen anywhere quite like this. This beach and surrounding park may be the most beautiful I have ever visited. If you are in Costa Rica, be sure to visit this unspoiled and pristine beach, accessible only by resort van (they pick you up at a designated parking area).

After parking your car, you'll need to take a 15-minute hike to reach the beach. The hike isn't too difficult, but it's recommended to wear water shoes or proper footwear. However, I managed to do it in flip flops. The views are breathtaking!
We had the beach to ourselves from 2 pm to 4 pm, but after 4 pm, people staying in Las Catalinas began to arrive. The beach is lovely and perfect for swimming. If you plan to have a drink or snack, it's best to bring your own as there are no facilities on the beach, and the nearby town of Las Catalinas is excessively expensive.

A bar with mediocre food is available, but getting there requires a lengthy and dusty journey down a dirt road. Our recommendation? Skip this spot and head straight to Bralitas, a nearby beach that boasts a stunning seashell shoreline and is a mere 15-minute walk from the road. Save your money and your sanity by avoiding this overpriced and underwhelming beach.

Looking for a beach that's devoid of excitement and life? Look no further than this snooze-inducing spot. With a measly 30 people at most, you'll have plenty of space to spread out and bask in the mundanity. The food is decent, but let's be real, you're not here for the culinary delights. The surf is decent too, but only because of the great instructor. And while the sunsets may be beautiful, they're hardly enough to make up for the lack of any real action. At least there are some local food options nearby to spice things up a bit.

In my honest opinion, the beach I stumbled upon in Liberia was nothing short of breathtaking. I had explored numerous beaches in the past, but this one stood out from the rest. However, it's important to note that the rip tide can be dangerous when venturing out to the small island located off the shore. If you're not fond of birds, you may want to leave before sunset. But if you're up for an unforgettable experience, stay put and watch the local birds flock towards the island as the sun sets. I like to call it "Bird Island" and it's a sight to behold. Witnessing these tiny birds fluttering past you towards the vibrant sunset and landing on the island is a surreal experience. Within minutes, the island is swarming with birds, creating a mesmerizing view that cannot be captured in pictures. Trust me when I say that the drive to this beach is worth every second.

In my honest opinion, the beach I stumbled upon in Liberia was nothing short of breathtaking. I had explored numerous beaches in the past, but this one stood out from the rest. However, it's important to note that the rip tide can be dangerous when venturing out to the small island located off the shore. If you're not fond of birds, you may want to leave before sunset. But if you're up for an unforgettable experience, stay put and watch the local birds flock towards the island as the sun sets. I like to call it "Bird Island" and it's a sight to behold. Witnessing these tiny birds fluttering past you towards the vibrant sunset and landing on the island is a surreal experience. Within minutes, the island is swarming with birds, creating a mesmerizing view that cannot be captured in pictures. Trust me when I say that the drive to this beach is worth every second.

After parking your car, you'll need to take a 15-minute hike to reach the beach. The hike isn't too difficult, but it's recommended to wear water shoes or proper footwear. However, I managed to do it in flip flops. The views are breathtaking!
We had the beach to ourselves from 2 pm to 4 pm, but after 4 pm, people staying in Las Catalinas began to arrive. The beach is lovely and perfect for swimming. If you plan to have a drink or snack, it's best to bring your own as there are no facilities on the beach, and the nearby town of Las Catalinas is excessively expensive.

This charming beach stretch is conveniently located just a short 5-10 minute stroll from the Riu Palace/Riu Guanacaste. Don't be surprised if you spot some mischievous monkeys frolicking in the trees near the Monkey Bar! We took a leisurely walk around 4pm and were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of monkeys and the amazing photo opportunities.
I highly recommend Xochilt (pronounced 'Sushi)' and Florys, two delightful ladies who operate a massage service on this beach. After discovering the exorbitant prices at the RIU palace, my partner and I stumbled upon these lovely ladies and booked a couple's massage on the beach at an unbeatable price!
I can confidently say that it was one of the best massages I've ever had! Xochilt and Florys were exceptional, and I wish I could bring them back home with me to Canada as my personal masseuses!

The water at this beach is crystal clear, with very few people around (only two others were snorkeling). The staff is incredibly diligent about keeping the area clean and preserving the natural beauty. I have traveled to many places around the world, but I have never seen anywhere quite like this. This beach and surrounding park may be the most beautiful I have ever visited. If you are in Costa Rica, be sure to visit this unspoiled and pristine beach, accessible only by resort van (they pick you up at a designated parking area).
