amazing bay with clear blue water. However don't expect too much sea life here, unless you swim, snorkel at the edges of the bay, where there are some rocks close to the shore.
Grote Knip is hands down one of the best beaches in Curacao! The turquoise water is absolutely stunning, and the soft white sand makes it a perfect spot for lounging and soaking up the sun. The beach is surrounded by beautiful cliffs, providing amazing views and creating a secluded, picturesque vibe.
It’s a fantastic place for swimming and snorkeling, with plenty of marine life to see. The beach has some basic facilities like restrooms and snack vendors, and there’s plenty of parking close by. You can rent chairs and there is a place to rent dive equipment. Whether you're looking for relaxation or adventure, Grote Knip offers the perfect balance. It's on the western side of the island and you can rent a vehicle and drive there or go with a tour
This beach is an absolute must-visit and you won’t find a more breathtaking spot on the island!"

We had a fantastic time at Avila Beach Resort in mid-December 2023. The room was spacious and clean. The resort is located right next to two private beaches and within walking distance of Queen Emma Bridge, downtown Willemstad cafes, restaurants, and shopping district. The prices at the restaurants and bars are a bit high, but you are paying for the convenience. Parking is complimentary, and sunscreen is provided for free. There is a small gift shop on the premises. In the evenings, there is live music with local bands. The hotel has a classic Spanish or European feel to its layout and architecture. Room service is available daily. I would definitely stay at Avila Beach Resort again when I visit Curaçao. I highly recommend this hotel resort.

The Avila Hotel is situated in a fantastic location with a lovely bay beach and calm waters. The Pen Restaurant provided excellent service and a delicious breakfast. However, the Jazz restaurant had poor service as I had to ask multiple times for water and drinks, which arrived after I had finished eating. Despite this, I did enjoy the great band playing. We stayed in the ocean view rooms on the peninsula, but they are in need of updating. I even got a splinter in my foot from the old decking. The curtains could use some shears for privacy while still letting in light, and the bathrooms and furnishings need updating throughout the resort. The lack of proper outlets in the bathroom made it difficult to use my hair straightener, as I had to stand in the hallway to do my hair. It would be a top-notch property if they renovated and modernized the rooms, as the location is excellent. There are many great nearby restaurants, with Fish and Joy being our favorite. I personally would not return until the rooms are updated, but I hope they make improvements as it has the potential to be a gem of a place.

Absolutely beautiful place! Everyday was stunning, everyone we met was incredible. The diving was superb, and I was able to do my certification here. WONDERFUL teachers, very clear communicators who are suuuper encouraging.
An additional gem, the snack bar is SO PHENOMENAL. The tuna poke bowl was consistently so delicious 🤤 Everything was very fresh and the drinks were tasty! Best vacation. Go enjoy!

Grote Knip is hands down one of the best beaches in Curacao! The turquoise water is absolutely stunning, and the soft white sand makes it a perfect spot for lounging and soaking up the sun. The beach is surrounded by beautiful cliffs, providing amazing views and creating a secluded, picturesque vibe.
It’s a fantastic place for swimming and snorkeling, with plenty of marine life to see. The beach has some basic facilities like restrooms and snack vendors, and there’s plenty of parking close by. You can rent chairs and there is a place to rent dive equipment. Whether you're looking for relaxation or adventure, Grote Knip offers the perfect balance. It's on the western side of the island and you can rent a vehicle and drive there or go with a tour
This beach is an absolute must-visit and you won’t find a more breathtaking spot on the island!"

Absolutely beautiful place! Everyday was stunning, everyone we met was incredible. The diving was superb, and I was able to do my certification here. WONDERFUL teachers, very clear communicators who are suuuper encouraging.
An additional gem, the snack bar is SO PHENOMENAL. The tuna poke bowl was consistently so delicious 🤤 Everything was very fresh and the drinks were tasty! Best vacation. Go enjoy!

We had a fantastic time at Avila Beach Resort in mid-December 2023. The room was spacious and clean. The resort is located right next to two private beaches and within walking distance of Queen Emma Bridge, downtown Willemstad cafes, restaurants, and shopping district. The prices at the restaurants and bars are a bit high, but you are paying for the convenience. Parking is complimentary, and sunscreen is provided for free. There is a small gift shop on the premises. In the evenings, there is live music with local bands. The hotel has a classic Spanish or European feel to its layout and architecture. Room service is available daily. I would definitely stay at Avila Beach Resort again when I visit Curaçao. I highly recommend this hotel resort.

The Avila Hotel is situated in a fantastic location with a lovely bay beach and calm waters. The Pen Restaurant provided excellent service and a delicious breakfast. However, the Jazz restaurant had poor service as I had to ask multiple times for water and drinks, which arrived after I had finished eating. Despite this, I did enjoy the great band playing. We stayed in the ocean view rooms on the peninsula, but they are in need of updating. I even got a splinter in my foot from the old decking. The curtains could use some shears for privacy while still letting in light, and the bathrooms and furnishings need updating throughout the resort. The lack of proper outlets in the bathroom made it difficult to use my hair straightener, as I had to stand in the hallway to do my hair. It would be a top-notch property if they renovated and modernized the rooms, as the location is excellent. There are many great nearby restaurants, with Fish and Joy being our favorite. I personally would not return until the rooms are updated, but I hope they make improvements as it has the potential to be a gem of a place.
