My preferred seaside spot in the Vendée! The tide had receded this morning, unveiling numerous tide pools and small stone structures to investigate. This stretch of coastline is expansive, with sandy dunes in the background, a winding river estuary on one side, and the beginning of a seaside hike to Port Bourgenay on the other. Veillon beach is ideal throughout all seasons - invigorating strolls in the winter and leisurely sunbathing in the summer! Pro tip: get there before noon as the parking lot tends to fill up fast!

My preferred beach in the Vendée! This morning, the tide was low, revealing numerous rock pools and interesting stone formations to discover. It is an expansive beach, with sand dunes situated behind it, a winding river estuary on one side, and the beginning of a coastal walk to Port Bourgenay on the other side. Veillon plage is ideal throughout the year - invigorating walks during winter and sunbathing in summer! A helpful suggestion: it is advisable to arrive before lunchtime as the parking area tends to fill up rapidly!
