Now I see why they call this beach one of the best in the Caribbean. Not only is it on a beautiful small peaceful island but it also is full of variety and slightly changing as you go along the shores. One side is close to a mangrove area. If you walk down the beach toward the airport you will see the area i speak of. It is as clear as crystals. Beautiful glistening water that is shallow and calm and WARM. The water around the mangrove area is warm and so so nice you would want to sleep in it. If you were to turn and look down the beach away from the stadium then you will see all the way down to the end of the beach where the water is cooler and deeper but still exceptionally clear and beautiful. Grape trees line the upper edges of the shore and when bearing fruit you can eat those ripe purple fruit till your belly is full. I loved each visit to this beach i hope you enjoy it too. Remember to keep our beautiful paradise country clean and safe.

If you find yourself at this disappointing location thinking you can grab a drink at the bar and dip your toes in the water, think again. Despite the large sign at the entrance welcoming you to enjoy the beach and use the bar, the security guard will stop you and demand $100 USD to step onto that government-owned beach. If you refuse, you will be harassed by a security guard named Olvon, who will intimidate you until you either leave or pay. After speaking with others, we have even heard of physical altercations with the guards for simply sitting on the beach. I recommend heading around the corner to a little place called Tenuta in Chatham Bay. The staff there are very nice, the view is better, there are no security guards to harass you, and it doesn’t cost you $100 just to go to a bar and buy more drinks.

Now I see why they call this beach one of the best in the Caribbean. Not only is it on a beautiful small peaceful island but it also is full of variety and slightly changing as you go along the shores. One side is close to a mangrove area. If you walk down the beach toward the airport you will see the area i speak of. It is as clear as crystals. Beautiful glistening water that is shallow and calm and WARM. The water around the mangrove area is warm and so so nice you would want to sleep in it. If you were to turn and look down the beach away from the stadium then you will see all the way down to the end of the beach where the water is cooler and deeper but still exceptionally clear and beautiful. Grape trees line the upper edges of the shore and when bearing fruit you can eat those ripe purple fruit till your belly is full. I loved each visit to this beach i hope you enjoy it too. Remember to keep our beautiful paradise country clean and safe.

If you find yourself at this disappointing location thinking you can grab a drink at the bar and dip your toes in the water, think again. Despite the large sign at the entrance welcoming you to enjoy the beach and use the bar, the security guard will stop you and demand $100 USD to step onto that government-owned beach. If you refuse, you will be harassed by a security guard named Olvon, who will intimidate you until you either leave or pay. After speaking with others, we have even heard of physical altercations with the guards for simply sitting on the beach. I recommend heading around the corner to a little place called Tenuta in Chatham Bay. The staff there are very nice, the view is better, there are no security guards to harass you, and it doesn’t cost you $100 just to go to a bar and buy more drinks.
