We depart Galway at 10:00 and begin your tour by exploring the Burren region. The first stop is Dunguaire Castle and Kinvara, where we take approximately 15 minutes to view the outside of the castle. Continuing on to Poulnabrone Dolmen, one of the most ancient religious sites in Ireland at 5800 years old, we make another short stop of approximately 10-15 minutes. We then stop in the quaint fishing village of Doolin to enjoy some lunch for around 45-50 minutes (lunch is NOT included in the ticket cost). After that, we arrive at the Cliffs of Moher where we have a stop of 2 hours of free time. Several methods of angling are used to catch pike. Trolling – driving the boat slowly with the bait/lure fishing behind the boat, spinning – fishing from a stationary boat with baits/lures and dead-Baiting- fishing with a dead natural bait (usually Perch, Roach, Herring Eel) using a float. This method of angling is best when there is enough wind to make the boat drift.

If you want to catch a trophy Pike – Lough Corrib is the place to do it! Pike fishing on Lough Corrib is ranked very high internationally. In Fred Buller’s famous book “The Doomsday Book of Mammoth Pike” very many of the large specimen pike mentioned were taken from Lough Corrib, the largest lake in the Republic of Ireland. Anglers go on the trail of the trophy pike on Lough Corrib from the middle of July onwards to the middle of December. Your guide has invaluable information for angling on the Corrib. Several methods of angling are used to catch pike. Trolling – driving the boat slowly with the bait/lure fishing behind the boat, spinning – fishing from a stationary boat with baits/lures and dead-Baiting- fishing with a dead natural bait (usually Perch, Roach, Herring Eel) using a float. This method of angling is best when there is enough wind to make the boat drift.

The Burren Visitor Centre is a not-for-profit community cooperative which has been run and managed by the people of the Burren for the last 50 years. This Experience: A Premium Guided Village Tour of Kilfenora, City of Crosses, and its ancient history, including a tour of Kilfenora Cathedral, St Fachnan’s Church, the High Crosses, and other notable sites of interest. This is easily the BEST way to experience the Cliffs of Moher from Galway. Meeting in Galway, a small group of no more than 8 will make their way via our private transportation to the village of Doolin. From there you will walk with our local guide to the Cliffs of Moher. This route is breathtaking and brought to life with the help of your captivating guide. The guide will tell you the untold stories about the cliffs while taking you to the most picturesque spots along the way. The hike ends at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Center however, we organize a taxi for everyone back to Doolin for some free time. The taxi costs €20 minimum or €5pp if there are 4 or more people on the tour. You can pay this directly to the taxi man on the day. At approximately 3:30 pm, you will be driven back to Galway in our private transportation. You will arrive back in Galway at approximately 5pm.
